- World Pickleball Tour Daytona Challenger, 4.5 Men's Doubles 19+ Gold Medal Match
BK (Legacy Pro) & Jared Cohen (CRBN 1X Power Series) vs Alex Mabred (Joola Hyperion CAS) & James Lahey (Joola Hyperion CFS) - Спорт
I love the comments about rating. Both these teams beat a lot of people to get to this final. They see the ball hit hard with lots of spin and they get insecure and have to say these are 3.5. Go find these guys in a rec game, see what the score is. The game is different, the paddles are different, and most importantly the players are different. All these guys are capable of drops, they are choosing to play this way. Guys that barely move with the same fiberglass paddle are not what this game is anymore.
Love that analysis, it's so true! It's all about matchups in tournaments. Both teams had beaten 7 others to get to the final with varied game styles. We made an intentional effort to use our power and spin this game as we felt they were not able to handle it, especially with the nerves of having a golden ticket on the line. Plenty of other games on my channel where it's obvious we can drop and dink when needed, just wasn't needed in this game haha!
I can see the blue shirt team having the skills at 4.5 level but dude in black hat dont even have a proper swing lol 😅
there’s just so many unforced errors though, i didn’t watch the full vid but in the second game especially the guy with the white shirt and black hand misses like 5 returns
Its hard to appreciate on video the power and spin. Funny thing is, I probably drop more on 3rds than drives. We just saw they had trouble with the pace and kept attacking their weakness.
it is possible to appreciate- you put amazing torque on the ball.
1:48..... bad call...that serve was in.
Dude in blue has a wicked slice, even tougher to read coming off a lefty
Thank you!
Nice work. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Legendssss
love it
Right away, obvious uncalled foot fault at 30 seconds to end the second point. Edit: SO many unforced errors. Is this typical at 4.5?
We did see the foot fault, but decided it wasn't worth calling something minor so early in the game.
Every match-up is different, realized the opponents couldn't handle our top spin drives in this game, so used it as a weapon. Check out some of the other 4.5 games on my channel and you can see the difference.
Lol at some of these couch potatoes commenting that this is not a 4.5 lmao
Teak serve seems way illegal.
Both teams are nervous. This is legit 4.5 play.
Ignore the comments "...not 4.5" well they got into gold. IF the strategy is working why change it? Game is changing, and a lot more athletic players are playing this game. Anyways great game, keep it up! I'm just curious, entering an event like this mens doubles, how much did it cost you guys (grand total)? And where does the golden ticket send and how did you do?
Just normal entry like $50-75. Golden ticket is early 2024 in Daytona Beach, FL
WPT has some of the weakest draws at times
@1957 ball looked in to me
I like how the other guy supported the call, truth be damned.
Backwards white hat guy seemed to have a death grip on his paddle the whole time. Tried to hit everything back twice as hard as it came.
If black hat white shirt guy would’ve taken a good 1 step back for his 3rd, could’ve cut out half of his unforced errors. Gotta give the ball a chance to bounce and start to come down before contact, especially when it has crazy spin. Can’t be consistent hitting the ball while it’s rising.
36 seconds and dude hits one with his foot in the kitchen
I’d love to play against these guys who comment about ratings and style. I’ve been playing a few months and whatever strategy people think is optimal, will change, sport is too young.
The guy in the blue has a little itch 😮
Way too much banging and too many unforced errors although a lot of good play but players seem more concerned with hitting as hard as possible and spinning the ball then making sure the ball lands inbounds.
It was an intentional strategy on our part, they didn't seem to be able to handle our power. Worked out well in the end haha
@@bk_pickleballdon’t listen to these haters, a lot of 5.0 players in here I see 😂 you saw a weakness and exploited it, why not keep doing it?? It’s called strategy. You can’t get to that level you’re at without knowing how to dink, come on guys
The guy in the white hat could not handle drives
Black dudes obviously the best of them all. And I agree, doesn’t look anything like 4.5 tournament play
oh wow… buncha ball spinners lol
Dude in blue got a lot of illegal serves
Guys in blue, serves look’s illegal. Every time he serve above the waist
Go check out this video, its called a screwball serve. The contact point is actually very low relative to other serves. ua-cam.com/video/Pdo5leBh4sg/v-deo.html
No more medals please. This is 2023. They only end up in landfills. We just want gear such as balls, paddles, socks, sneakers, and goggles.
bro your opponents have horrible hands😂, I've never even seen a 3.5 miss that many drives
Bangers tournament. No method or good strategy. Why this was even called a tournament is beyond reason. Go play REC!
3.5 play. Not even close to 4.5.
Go read the description of ratings. You are incorrect.
4.5 lol. Not even close
commented by a 2.5 lmao
im a 3.5 player and no way they're 4.5 cuz they seem to match up my level
Let’s play sometime :)
Definitely not 4.5
This can't be 4.5. These guys are low level intermediate or decent beginners.
beginners?? cut it out
This is not 4.5 level
you are not even close to their level, Mr. 2.0
