Burgum is full of it… he supported the sale of this land to FuFeng. The land was sold as farm land then later changed to industrial I have receipt with this. I own property adjacent to this parcel. It was only because of the citizens of our town to block this, elected city officials did everything they could to push this project thru.
Right now the city of Grand Forks is taxing this property less than ag property… while my adjacent property was taxed by an increase of 500%
Why do we allow China to buy land in the US, but we can't buy land in China?
Why can we only have minority ownership in a business in China, but Chinese can buy and own corporations in the US?
Why can China mail packages to the US for next to nothing (paid by US tax payers), but the reverse isn't true, with a result that we can't compete?
Why do we have State and Commerce departments if they allow such unequal policies with our potential enemies?

Going to jail for three days was like going to Girl Scout camp. It was a vacation. How can you be a judge in America unless you’ve spent time in jail to know what it feels like when you’re passing judgment on somebody else if you’ve never experienced jail, but you’re throwing people in jail isn’t that counterintuitive to society message about people and the penal system.
That’s why my suggestion to border patrol was if they’re going to try to cross the border illegally is Chinese immigrants. They should have to clean the stuff out of our landfills that they’re sending over kind of like a prison chain. How many people have filled out a visa application come from a different country as an immigrant and got here legally with a green card. There’s no excuse. It’s a slap in the face of the people that fought so hard to get one.

I am all for sustainable energy. Oil is a finite resource even if we have 200 more years worth. We have to be smart about changing over. It cannot happen in a single decade. We need to do better developing sustainable regional power sources that lessen our dependence on the non-renewable. Examples: Hydro power in the nortwest; solar in the southwest; geo-thermal in the Great Basin; wave power for coastal cities. We also can replace most of our throw away plastics with bio-degradeable starches. Bottom line is eventually we will have to but let's be realistic about how we get there.
Here's a scenario. What if big oil and the G7 already made a deal to export 50% of petroleum produced in the US by 2030, ready or not?
