He's weirdly one of my favorite people to listen to speak. He's aged really well. He lost a bit of that youthful ego and edge that rubbed people the wrong way, but kept his personality and humor. He's still opinionated and all that but he's not nearly as abrasive as he used to be.
I used to say to my wife back in the 90's that when noel is on TV/radio doing interviews , you stop what your doing and listen and it's still the same , and now I've found the music noel listens to and talks about and never heard before are great , from Paul McCartney 19 hundred and 85 to peculiar psychedelic French chick's, he's my personal music review, if noel likes it 9 times out of 10 so do I cheers noel for broadening my musical horizons 👍
Can’t wait to see Noel and Matt still doing this when they’re in their 80s and on the brink of dementia and partially deaf so they’re shouting at each other and confused about what they’re even doing there.
I'm not a fan of Noel's music generally, but Alone on the Rope is a magnificent record. For me it works on different emotional levels, from how I view myself to how I've tried to understand my stepson's suicide in 2022, even though the writer states here that it's not about that. If you know, you know. It's one of those rare tracks which brings me to tears when I listen. Thank you, Noel.

Is this a weekly show? If only they could get Noel interested enough to do a weekly podcast. In fact, I'd love to see him put together a solid 30 mins and do a stand up show.
Hello! Cheese eater from Sweden here. The idea that Oasis wasn’t popular in Scandinavia seems insane to me. Granted it fell off a cliff after Be Here Now, but where didn’t it?
When Noel said his song ‘Alone On the Rope’ was his most underrated, as I’ve never heard it, I went straight to a live version, and it’s a great song. I think he may misjudge the reaction as it’s not a song the scream and shout to, but take in and think. Quite melancholic or sentimental feeling to it. Or maybe I’m one of the connoisseurs he speaks of. 🙄
Love the way he dropped in the literary reference... I know he projects himself as the grit in the fingernails W/C hero - which he is - but I'm sure he's extremely well read, even though he'd never let on.

Noel discovers how Prince Buster influenced a band like The Specials... yes that was fairly common for the Two Tone ska bands from the UK to pay tribute to the original ska pioneers by interpolating or straight up covering their tunes.... that was early ska.
