No. I started to talk to it when it turned toward me. These bears have seen people their whole life and don't want anything to do with them. It was also a great year for acorns, so the bears were far from hungry and you can see this one is in great condition.
This is a black bear, or course. It would be a totally different story and I might not be here if it were a grizzly, like in Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Glacier. (All three parks also have a lot of black bears.)
