It's mindblowing that somebody at the Factory decided to go with an in-house crappy app over existing, more bulletproof, solutions like Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Everytime Ducati tries to deal with anything web or app, it ends up being a big flop.
Thanks for your effort. I'm waiting for a red V4 to come to my dealer and then I'm off. I had a 2014 Multi that I sold and hit big regret before the guy pulled out of my driveway. When I had my 2014 it had the same Iphone link up with every start problem. I gave up and just used the power with a handlebar mount. Life got easier. Why do all these manufacturers think they need to reinvent a square wheel every time? Is car play that expensive I wonder.
Love informative videos like this. Semper Fi! Hoping to pick the V4s up late summer this year. Devouring all I can electronically until then. Thanks for the info! Subbed.
Thanks mate. Australia is still a month or so away from seeing the V4S. I have a question on the rear plastic rack. Are the 4 lugs on top just removable plugs? I'd love to be able to adapt my top box without spending more money.
That pocket would be good for charging go-pro batteries and maybe a spare Cardo or Sena. Personally: Phone always stays on me in a pocket so I can call 911 when I'm upside down in a ditch 40 yards from my bike.... I'm lazy and don't wanna crawl over to my bike with two broken legs.
I get Ducati Connect running but when i click on it, i do see the apps, but do NOT get the blue selectionbox to select the different apps. My joystick only let's me go left (out of the menu). This sucks and there is no trouble shooting or solution online. You happen to have an idea maybe? (I tried removing and reconnecting everything, but that did not solve it unfortunally)😖
I was able to fit my iPhone 12, w/ thin case in, but barely. I recommend 1 of 2 options: 1. Buy a short Anker lighting charger(available on Amazon) & I put the phone in, charging port at top, limits tangles & then u don’t have the cord under the phone, pushing it up. Option 2, coil the long cord, use a zip & keep the loop at top. Did the same thing for my Indian Challenger USB charging port, the long iPhone cord would fall out before
Liked. Subscribed. Well done. Figuring out this Sygic GPS app and how good it might be (or not) for planning trips & tours. Hoping there’s a software upgrade down the road sometime that lets us use Google or Apple Maps for GPS. Ducati would’ve been smart if they simply integrated CarPlay in to the dash system. Works flawlessly for me now in my cars with it.
Me too. The radar is not approved in the US yet so that does not work right now. I am told there is an update for the bike that comes through the app but we shall see.
@@RemboUSMC the software update for the radar is supposed to come in June/July, $850.00 USD. I bought my V4S with functional radar and have to wait till summer, I paid $1000.00 CAD. I am not happy about the fact that we have to wait, this is a royal Ducati screw up. Should have been processed through the authorities last year.
@@RemboUSMC yea, same here. Either my dealer isn't being told anything or don't want to tell me. I just spoke to my service manager and he appeared surprised, Shahin - GM at Moto Corsa mentioned the summer software release in last video. Hope the snow melts soon, I want to go for a spin.
CarPlay is trickier on bikes. I love my CarPlay in my cars, use it over the GM & Ford infotainment, agree it works great. Have CarPlay also on my Indian Challenger, unfortunately can’t play through my factory speakers, so no music & GPS input. Think it would work w/ headset(but that defeats the speaker purpose), it’s a hands free safety issue I’m guessing. If you have a headset I think it will allow GPS input, directions, & play music but not through the speakers, direct to headset
I don’t have any issues. I just downloaded the app and it worked for me. I haven’t use it in a while because I just use my phone for everything anymore.
The main issue is that it gets hot and I mean really hot if you leave an iPhone in it it will overheat after a 20 min trip in summer. I’ve fitted a $20 handlebar fit
I actually started using it more and more but if you have a tank case there is no reason. I think the charging capability is the biggest seller but rainproof.
Thanks for watching. Please like and subscribe.

Je suis Français et je trouve très bien tes vidéos. Superbe…continue ainsi 👍
Merci. Ils seront en anglais car je ne parle pas français.
No Problem

Agree, Car Play would be fantastic.

Good luck and I hope you can get it sooner. Thank you.
Great and informative video! Thanks for providing so much value!!

The four holes are threaded. They make a rack attachment for about $60us
@@RemboUSMC great, thanks.

Hi, not sure why probably is not working for you but actually no the Ducati connect will re-connet automatically after you turn on the bike again.

@@thor8640 I guess we shall see. I learn more from the internet than the dealer.

i would advice looking at quad lock case and mount.
I’m having trouble conveying to the Ducati app. I don’t even see the WiFi option. Do you have a link?

It most definitely gets way too hot in the summer.
Is there any where else I can charge my phone or gps on the bike ?
There is a European 12v plug in the front and one under the passenger seat.
Thanks. I’m from Sweden 🇸🇪 And will get my bike in may. You are doing a great job. Thanks for that 😎👌
I have a MS V4S. The cell phone compartment is useless and causes my phone (pixel 6) to overheat due to being so close to engine.
Yes. I don’t use it anymore
Captain Incompetent having a whinge
Thank you
The storage is just poor design lol nobody going to use it
