The immense musical culture of K. Saariaho both in terms of traditional sounds and electronic capacities, learnt mainly at IRCAM, led her to feel close to the so-called 'spectral' school (Grisey, Murail) without being a member of the movement. Hr inspiration does not come from the same concernes. This outstanding experience of the musical sounds and their infinite possible processing led her to a structured renewed approach of the modern great orchestra. We have here an eloquent example, which deserves to be carefully heard. The rendition is absolutely excellent and probably fits closely the musical vision of the composer.
