Interviewer asked the same questions over and over in a different way. Literally wanted him to say he's depressed or something
honestly I don't understand why this guy is a head editor of a newspaper and has shows on talksport and Sky sports all he does is make basic points but says them in a slow monotone way in lieu of saying anything insightful

To stop him going to the World Cup & filling captain Harry Kane’s boots? As Toney was in better goal scoring form! TRUE.STORIES.THINK.LONG& HARD! Brentford don’t deserve to be relegated. They are a top class team that has fallen to injuries this season. Hopefully they can remain in the Premier league this season and return to Europe contention in the next.

I think Toney is a Cantona type of character. He needs to be given special treatment, and he needs to feel loved by those around him, and he needs to feel like The Man. When he does, he feels comfortable, and he can go out and produce his best. That's why I think a move to an Arsenal or Chelsea wouldnt work, he won't find his place.

Just to show you that mainstream media is always up to creating a narrative and sticking with it .. if your interviewee is giving you a happy vibe, a good journalist will match it up.. Don't keep toning down the whole segment. This would have been a good comeback interview for Toney, showing resilience and hunger even more but they chose a sob story for him.. talk about feelings.. did the same for Deli Ali, it didn't help him one bit.
@fariesings but yeah their problem with Ivan is ivan knows what will be said but is focused on getting back in and showing he is the difference in a side winning or losing. Ivan is not letting you know just how much he's on top of things. Haven't you noticed how selective he is in giving interviews? He's not letting just anyone interview him even for Sky. Even of he doesn't return to brilliant form he is going to be good for his side. They will go back to winning ways
