That’s the nickname of my great grandfather’s unit. He was in the 101st for Normandy, Holland, and Belgium. He had previously been in the 509th in North Africa and the 505th at Sicily, or the 3rd battalion, 504th; we aren’t exactly sure. He was apart of the first assault wave at Sicily so either one of those units he was apart of. Can’t believe I’m the first person to mention the 101st’s nickname the “Screaming Eagles.”
I was in the Army in the 101st in Ft.Campell Ky in 87-89. Why did they use the term Screaming Eagles if they don’t scream? I think they do in fact Scream and it’s a communist plot to over your government like when they tore down our confederate statues and renamed Fort Bragg. The attorney general of New York has Bragg as his last name and he’s black! Shouldn’t he have to change his last name since he is a govt employee? Anyways, I don’t think the Eagle scream is a red tail hawk. I’m in N.E. Ga, on my porch, listening to a red tail hawk and it’s different from an Eagle screaming! Thanks for letting me rant and rave. Please God, Bless the USA again!
Yeah, freedom sounds pretty lame, doesn't it? Lol I'm American and I think it's hysterical that our national bird sounds so pathetic, really. They look very majestic, but they sure don't sound majestic, like at all. Lmao
Bald eagle 1: Come if you dare! You dare not! ?😛 Bald eagle 2: I think you are scared! You have the guts to fight!!😠 Bald Eagle1:法克鱿!😡 Bald Eagle2:王德发!!😡
Benjamin Franklin strongly disagreed with having the bald eagle as the national bird. He saw it as a symbol of greed and felt that the bald eagle didn't work for its keep. He felt the turkey would be more appropriate. A rather prescient story, it seems.
@@thereadersvoice The story about Benjamin Franklin wanting the National Bird to be a turkey is a myth. This false story began due to a letter Franklin wrote to his daughter criticizing the original eagle design for the Great Seal, saying that it looked more like a turkey. In the letter, Franklin wrote that the “Bald Eagle...is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly…[he] is too lazy to fish for himself.” About the turkey, Franklin wrote that in comparison to the bald eagle, the turkey is “a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America...He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage.” So, although Benjamin Franklin defended the honor of the turkey against the bald eagle, he did not propose it become one of America’s most important symbols. But yea....what Franklin said about the Eagle does indeed represent America today....
I searched this just to hear what eagles sound like and their sounds are so gentle, I’m in love
I was expecting a more intimidating sound

Bald Eagle, Looks majestic and tough but sounds soft and cuddly.
"Just for that comment playa, you've earned yourself a one on one with a bald eagle."
It's fun to see them talk
"Excuse me, good man, what would, pray tell, a kilometer be?"
Lmao
So that's why they use a Red Tailed Hawk for movies and TV shows and not the eagles.
I like the natural scream better tbh.
@@syos1979 me too. It’s like a raptor.
Still wouldn't want one attacking me
Yup, Americans get mad when they find out their national bird sounds like an autistic chicken
Sounds cool to me honestly
So ferocious. I am intimidated by this giant squeeky toy.
It sounds like it’s laughing, I’m here for it 😂 I love it
Love hearing them in the wild. 🤎🤍🦅

Lovely bald eagle.
Doesn't look bald to me
They call it bald because its head is white
Nah the word originated from a Middle English (I think?) word which means “white headed”
Such a majestic looking girl
Bald eagle sound really simillar like albatros ? That was new to me
I like it. They deserve to be heard!!!!!
My favorite sounds ❤
Damn he tryin his best but still a pretty majestic animal

Not exactly what I was expecting as the battlecry of America 😂. As far as looks go though, I couldn't ask for a better national symbol 🇺🇲😎
In the country of freedom even the birds do whatever they want
Amazing 👏
SOUNDS OF FREEDOM
Of course, tv shows and movies fooled me. Because they used a redtailed hawk screech of the eagles cacly chirp
aww so cute
bald eagles just sound like normal birds lmao
I love how I know eagles sound like this, and whenever someone bets on them not, I show them this and instantly win
what a fantastic animal
Just Wow!!
Just remind you of the time I went to Florida and a albatros or commonly known as a seagull took my sandwich😂
There is a huge difference between an albatross and a seagull, dude. You may want to look that up before saying something like this. 🤨🙄
So they laugh and don’t screech, intersting
YES SWEETY IM HERE ❤
He just singing the song of freedom.
I wouldn’t say that’s a scream, that’s more of a call
Damn even pidgeons Sound more intimidating
Freedom Seagull
I'm looking and listening to one now and that's not the call I'm hearing, but the pitch is similar.
God damn it, it sounds like a seagul 🤣🤣
The appearance is honestly more intimidating than the sound… But eagles are still intimidating.
1000 movies and tv-shows have lied to me :D.
Personally I like this sound more than the red tail hawk scream
I hear ya baby
0:01 me trying to sing high notes
Who would have guessed that they sing like a songbird.
George Washington: "Yo bro this bird looks bad ass lets make it the national sym... *Bald Eagle makes this noise* ... well....maybe we can fix that"
