Yay! This has quickly become my favorite weapon in the game. It makes traversal easy, but boss fights difficult. It has such a risky but stylish moveset
The actual funniest part of this is this man going “never gonna do this knight with a slash weapon again” then moving HIS OWN GOALPOSTS to be Rellana in NG+. With, you know, a moveset of slashes
The Weaponarts basically scale off their respective stats(fire WA with faith and the magic one with Int). So in short you can build this weapon for general damage via dex(with some strength) or you can specialise it into the weaponarts with those stats. Alternatively you just get them all and become incredibly overleveled to hit with full power in any case with em.
Yeah but that's kinda my main problem with the weapon. Personally I don't have the patience to go get 200 levels to be able to get 50 dex, strength, int and faith. And building for one stat also seemed to not be great. It's allright but the scaling is rough.
Notice how in Rennala’s territory the enemies mostly consists of magic sorcerers using ranged glinstone sorceries, which is how a representation of how she fights. Meanwhile in Rellana’s territory it mostly consists of magic sorcerers using melee Carian sorceries. Also a representation of how she fights. Noticing the difference here?
This game is 2 & 1/2 yrs old & has released a massive game sized dlc but the devs still haven’t fix the deeproot depths teleporter. You’d think it would be working by now
The ash of war looks so damn cool but the damage is just ass. Hopefully they buff it in some future update. And also hopefully they allow you to block while using this sword so it can work with the Deflecting hard tear.
@@FortiEnjoyer To be honest I too had the problem of constantly low on Blue. And the occasional low on stamina. Also I had the feeling, the fire is only good against groups of thrash mobs. At the end I went for an all-out INT build + plenty of Mind + END for heavy armor, to be able to trade at least some blows. It was OK then - but you are right - even then it was not great. Also I first used SONAF 2.0 around level 150-160. So maybe that is why I had a slightly better time
Yeah it does get better once you have more levels that's for sure. But still not amazing by any means. Started to like the magic side more till the end and it's a fun weapon but I was also dissapointed because the expectations were so high for me.
imo the magic ash should have been a stronger carian sovereignty, while the fire ash could be the same, but with more damage, or its version of wing stance as well, light attack magic, heavy attack fire, would have been perfect as well, and i dont like the power stance moveset of light greatswords AT ALL, costs too much stamina,

even if these swords arent the most OP in the game, they have one of the most pretty weapon arts in the game... and thats what really matters

But yeah, split damage is generally not worth it.

C'mon friend... You can not expect a good damage with SONAF 2.0 AoW if you have only 20 INT and FAI
It wasn't much better even when I got 50 faith :) and the main problem is indeed the fact that it's so stat hungry

Technically all dlc weapons runs should be on ng+ because you need to kill old radahn to get the weapon, witch was counted as main boss before dlc
