Well, they still kick butt. They got a fan from Mexico, me. Don't ask me how I learned from them, it's a long story.

We got al the time in the world here. 😁 How does someone on the other side of the other border with the US know about 54-40?

@@JeffTaylor2112 LOL! Well, I've always been a fan of rock music and there was a radio station in Mexico City (where I'm from) in the 80's that was called Rock 101, which was one of the best in town. Fast forward to 2015 and me living in a different city (San Luis Potosi), about 400 Km north. I was bored and somewhat nostalgic, so I googled Rock 101 and the first hit was this radio station in Vancouver. It's been a staple at home in the mornings with Willy, Kim and Alece, so after a while, I began taking notice of 54-40 and The Tragically Hip as well. The first song that really hooked me was She-La and from there, in February, I contacted them on Twitter, after some pointers by Alece because I wanted to buy some CDs by them and In Mexico you can't find them, you just can't. I did buy three, Radio Love Songs, Lost in the City and La Difference, a History Unplugged. I want to buy the green album and another one whose name escapes me, but it's a gray cover. Oh, and by the way, the name 54-40 comes from the motto "54-40 or fight", which can be related in a weird way to us losing all that territory to the US. 54-40 or fight was an expansionist idea by James Polk, but he abandoned it later on. Guess he didn't want another fight with the British Empire, so he turned his attention towards Mexico and well, the rest is history (Texas, Mexican-American war, etc.) But that's how I learned about 54-40, why I like them and also, I want to tell you that I'm very aware of the Tragically Hip, who lost their vocalist some years ago. Even Trudeau cried when he passed away. Lastly, I tune Rock 101 on my computer every day since I found them that day in 2015. Cheers.

There is no way that you can say that you had a bad show with these guys. It's just not possible. We started seeing them in Point Roberts at the Breakers in the 90's. Every October long weekend we are there to see them at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Thank you so much guys
