I mean I’m sure there’s a subconscious thing happening when batting in a cage. We can all balance on a street ledge, but put that same ledge 40 ft in the air and suddenly walking it becomes harder.

I used to say to my coach that the ball machine was delayed. It was giving me the balls on the time it was suppose to so I'd have to readjust my stance, I rarely missed on game day but I'd always fuck up in training he just said that I was making excuses. One day the maintenance guy came in with a brand new machine, that shit hit me with the most crisp balls and from there on I smashed it in training. Some times it really is the equipment, in this case it's not 😂
Little early on 55 mile per hour pictures and I was always smashing foul balls and other fields and I finally got my time to figure it out. It was amazing.
I’m just curious why the pitcher’s net thing isn’t flipped around the other way? To allow an area for the pitcher to throw, without the rest of their body being unprotected.
Take everything opposite field!! It’ll fix your timing real fast. Literally take EVERYTHING oppo from second base to the outfield line. Piazza always did that too in batting practice and before every game
It's funny how when we are struggling with something, our brains will find something else that we're feeling, or are uncomfortable about(such as the cage/nets, which probably did feel strange or awkward to her), and make that the reason that for our "failure". As if if that one thing weren't in the way, we'd succeed. I wonder what that's about. Also, good on her for immediately owning it.
Whenever I see videos from this channel pop up I can only think of Mr. Baseball. "You have a hole in your swing, more weight on front foot and more top hand".
I think she’s having a fear that the ball is gonna bounce off the metal frame in front of her, so she’s not giving it a %100 swing. Not sure if that’s it but it’s a possibility why she was saying it’s the cage.
I mean. It might be the cage lol. Why is the pitching fence so close? Id be afraid to full swing in case of a ricochet. Probably not likely to ever happen but it would be in my head and affect my swing for sure.
So true people make to many excuses
too** but ya everyone makes excuses
@@mensleaguemerchant12I got your back cuz I know the dense ones are coming for your neck, I was gonna do the same 🫡
Somtimes they arent excuses, they might actually be right.... good players make the adjustments when uncomfortable.
what’s your excuse for bad grammar?🤓
It’s human
Mine’s always my batting gloves don’t feel right today
Fr tho I put to much pine tar on mine
It’s always been “A little too bright in here today… could’ve sworn it was darker in here yesterday.” Nah I’m just not rotating at all.
my right glove always felt sl odd to wear so now i just bat with my left glove and nothing on my right
@@Im.Jupiiter I’ve straight up gone no gloves. Mainly because I lost them, but I also just feel more connected lol.
It’s honestly true tho cuz after u fix whatever it is ur complaining about u start to get better
Good for her. That mindset will let her progress so much faster than anyone else who's blaming the whole world but them. She's ahead of the curve
I love the way he says “dude.” 😂😂
Coaching Gen Z be like... 😂
it’s good that she recognizes that it’s not the cage that’s the problem. some people will find any way to make an excuse
Yep. That’s what good coaching gets you to do. Break bad habits.
What a mature sequence of thoughts looks like 🙌
😂😂 “Duude 😏”
Mine tends to be "my bat was tossed wrong last game"😅
😆🤣😂
I love how he just let her figure it out and then didn’t stop her when she said it out loud
I mean I’m sure there’s a subconscious thing happening when batting in a cage. We can all balance on a street ledge, but put that same ledge 40 ft in the air and suddenly walking it becomes harder.
Yea a lot of people blame outwardly and hardly look inward for their problems
Good job of personal awareness and self-correction!
i play volleyball and when i mess up im like “sorry i zoned out” or “bruh my arm is bent weird today” or “the net looks different from yesterday?”
Same lol
Okay but sometimes you have that one day where your arm really won't move in the right way
@@appleal1sleep on your back and do overhead shoulder stretches. hanging is really good for your shoulders.

He goes “duuuude” 😂😂
I love the real time realization she went through...we ALL have been there
Love the videos. Wish we had you for our son years ago.
Coach not letting her get too far into it before the call out, also, haha the "dude?" is perfect. Good work coach
Gorgeous swing
I love that all he said was "dude" and she already knew what was up😄😄😄

She is spot on i see her in the next softball World Series she is in control of her destiny
I laughed way too hard at this!
Great coach. Keep him close to you throughout your life
Bless her! She's class!!!
OMG GRETTA I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!! keep up the hard work and hopefully see you soon I love you❤❤
I always like to blame it on my gloves lol or people are watching your doing good though
She has a great swing. You can tell she and her dad have worked on it. I miss these days with my kids. They grow up too fast.
This speaks to the value of sports for young people, it shows you the natural effects of holding yourself accountable.
we know why we’re here boys
The age old "its the controller!" I heard from every guy 😂 bro do some inner work

He is flipping underhand
@@PearlRiverPursuitFancan’t believe that needed to be explained lol

Beautiful athlete
Whenever I play tennis indoors I always say “oh the sun was in my eyes”
You could have explained how she was wrong and how she needs to not worry about that but your reaction said it all: “dude” 🤨
The disappointment when she said it’s not the cage it’s me😭
Mine is for one i suck at timing and sometimes blanebit random things
I just go with "my shoes are too tight its restricting my movement" I know it makes no sense but neither do any other excuses
it makes sense. if your toes are cramped they can't spread out which causes plenty of mobility issues.
Take everything opposite field!! It’ll fix your timing real fast. Literally take EVERYTHING oppo from second base to the outfield line. Piazza always did that too in batting practice and before every game
Drop dead gorgeous 🙌🏼
At least she admitted it accepted it and kept trying to fix the problem. Good job girl
I've got the opposite problem. I always think it is me
God she has a Griffey Jr. swing…just awesome!
It's the cage
*Gordon Ramsey Mode activated*
It's me :(
I don’t make excuses for the most part. Normally I just say “wow, I suck today” 😭
I think homie is having his own personal thoughts about Gretta 🤣😭
haan yaar maine bhi dekha bet lagaya West Indies pe aaj super excited
She’s got the right attitude 👍🏼👍🏼
The first swing was her best swing mechanically
Good stuff girl. Accountability 🎉
This is exactly the lesson of sports
As a center fielder I can confirm that I am the only outfielder who actually does something
Good kid, good coach. She knows.
I have a problem with my timing I swing to late so all my hits go to first base but I usually get on base( I’m in 10u btw)
I do that all the time
Self talk is good!
Way to own it and get back at it.
nah on the fei ld my excuse is 'my cup ain't sittin rigth today" lol
She is gorgeous. Wow.
@@kvdrownah she's in college
I blame it on the bat
Even when in doubt sweaty and batting shes still a 10.
I’m sure she’ll be relieved to know that some old dude thinks she’s hot. That’s definitely on her list of goals here.
That's weird.
@@iamthespacepopethat’s what I’m saying 😭 she looks like 15 and the dude above is grown!

im pretty sure its called self serving bias. when you attribute your success to your own skill and ability and your failures to external factors
Whenever I see videos from this channel pop up I can only think of Mr. Baseball. "You have a hole in your swing, more weight on front foot and more top hand".
I hate when Mercury is in retrograde
Omg are you on the Batbusters I am on the 10u Batbusters ❤
Gotta give her credit for the immediate realization and admittance that it is, in fact, her own mind…….
That’s true maturity.
Good job coach...nip the bs quickly and get good work in!
See I have the problem where I'm constantly telling myself I suck and that's what makes me bad ...
There's a drill to fix this issue, though. I'd just have her do a few swing-at-release drills and continue.
Mine is I don’t have enough pine tar on my bat 💀
PERFECT ❤❤❤
It’s 100% the umps fault
Honestly, the first thing I noticed is that the cage was way too close.
Me on any golf course
Said the quiet part out loud there?
Got give it to her for owning up to it thouh😅

It's not you, cage, it's me.
Sweety pie the threads on the ball require complete focus .
1st hit was on time
where is that place
Me too
At least she corrected herself. I bet she swung a lot better after she admitted it was her and not the cage.
These women have some sweet swings though
Good job changing that thought and coming back to the present. Regain your concentration and keep going
i wanna play softball so bad but i feel like i shouldn’t because i’ve never played before and ill be bad, keep in mind im young lol
