Thanks for including the pictures of Roxy. She is so pretty. Great program as always.
I also am a very visual learner and I've watched Jean's video on the nun stitch and I actually learned it. I find that once I get started on it I almost feel like I'm in a meditative state. Not that I really meditate. 😄 But I find it super relaxing and have used that stitch multiple times. Enjoy your visit with your family. Good luck with the trainer.
My goodness you're clearly so busy with the new Roxy-girl in your life.
I'm glad you're getting assistance with training - it really does help.
Dogs are so triggered by smell - it may be Matt's aftershave or even the soap he uses which Roxy is associating with a pervious bad experience. I think you're very wise to take it slowly, work on other things and maybe later figure out a way to reintroduce them.
Getting back to stitching 😁
My Weeds and wildflowers has arrived! I'm beyond excited - and can't imagine how I'll wait a whole month to start it.
Thanks to your lovely Emma who was so patient with anxious enquiries.
The flosses are so beautiful - I just want to stroke them. And that gorgeous needle-minder.....
Caroline, watching your video is a pleasure as always. While I know you miss Luna, Roxy is a beauty and I hope she and the family adjust to each other. Hopefully, the trainer’s suggestions will be the key to a successful transition for all of you.
As for tennis elbow, I get it when I do large needle point projects but not when cross stitching🤞🏽However, I found that the brace sold over the counter works wonderfully. I started wearing it to recover the first time I got tennis elbow. Now it stays in my stitching bag and I wear it anytime I needlepoint I have not had a reoccurrence since using the brace while stitching. I was going to add a picture but the comment feature doesn’t support pictures. I will send it via messenger but the picture is an example and I just bought the one Walmart carried. Have a great weekend and visit with your parents 🙋🏽♀️
Hi Caroline, another great video during which I realized that I have full conversations with you while you are speaking 😂😂😂. I’d like to think that it happens because you are such a good conversationalist and not that I’m beginning to lose my mind! Roxy is a beautiful girl with intelligent eyes and you are a wonderful dog friend, so I have full confidence that things will work out. We once adopted a 9 month old GSD who did not make a police force. He was very scared of me initially. I would tell him, “ I am the least of your fears, I make chicken and eggs for the cats.” It took a couple of weeks, but we bonded…tightly. Thank you for bringing so much care and love to all your viewers. Oh yeah, get that tendinitis checked out!
I have developed tennis elbow and my physical therapist gave me a splint to wear. It had a gel pack that I line up with the spot and it had made my stitching time longer with less pain. I'm not sure why but I'm a believer.
It's so fun to see all your stitching for your big year!
Weeds and wildflowers is awesome !!!!!! Hugzzzz to Roxy.
Hi Caroline, Thank you for a lovely video! I hope that Roxy is able with your help to overcome those fears. We have two rescues who both have severe anxiety. Our second dog, Lola didn't have any fear of people when we adopted her but then COVID hit and we couldn't socialize her; so she picked up a fear of people from that and modeling our other dog, Lily. So, we've been working very hard to try to help both of them. Lily has made huge strides; Lola is taking longer to get comfortable. However, we just keep working at it and small gains are being made. :) Wishing you a wonderful visit with your parents! Thank you for sharing your time and life with us.
I just received my new floor stand, love it!!!
Everything looks great. I learned alot of specialty stitches for needlepoint and have great books to help you. I do sneak in some on my charts. Take care dear❤
It’s always a pleasure when I see you. Thanks for sharing & good luck w/ Roxy. She is a pretty girl!
Happy to see you are enjoying your new starts. I have been doing a few to get finishes between work on longer-term pieces. Hoping to get together with my daughter and discuss her ideas for framing a piece I finished and will gift her, but she is not available when the framer's shop is open, so I'll get color preferences, etc. from her and then get it to the framer so it can be a birthday present this summer. Hope all continues to work out with Roxy's training. She is a lucky pup to have a family so willing to work with her!
First thing in the morning - to watch your video and I am well set for the working day ahead 😁
I very much enjoyed seeing all of your current projects. Your stitching is always so beautiful and makes me want to stitch everything. I love your new little Roxy, she is such a pretty girl.
Omg! I just went and got Kefalonia Carnations kit! I am so happy, because my grand father came to Canada on a ship in the 1900', I will stitch it for memories 🇬🇷❤ Thank you for my happy day 😊🌺
Screaming! Thank you so much! I’ll drool over the website for a while and send you an email with my choice. Too cool!
I love it. You are going to start a new project whenever you desire. I am in that mode, along with stitching about 95% of a pattern book or pamphlet . Literally stitch EVERY thing (or almost everything). I always wanted to do that & when I started I couldn't believe how much stitching I am getting done and enjoying it 100 times more than I every did.
Lovely projects.
Good luck with Roxy and the training. Always tough with an older dog. I’ve heard scent work games really reduce their energy levels.
And good luck with the shoulder etc x
Hello Caroline. Thanks for sharing your time with us again. I hope your elbow trouble can he resolved quickly. Your stitching is always so lovely. I enjoy that you atitch all different kinds of things too.
Roxy is so boessed to have you all. Your patience and care is so so sweet.
Enjoy your folks.
Thanks again.
What a regal look on Roxy in that one shot. I hope she adjusts with your life as soon as possible. That is quite a job for your family! These joints in our bodies - a shoulder on the right side, a thumb joint on the left. But, stitch I must. Moderation and limits to be recognized. You certainly have great give always. Love the floss color Lady Marmalade. I almost put Wiz with it for Linnets Song, but, Great Lakes really is a fine companion. Happy weekend with your parents.
Exquisite stitching! Great video as always!
So happy to be online and see you pop up and be the first to say hello!
Roxie is adorable ❤
Enjoyed seeing all the things you're working on -- and learning your plans. I've got my JDD scissor-holder spool, my fabric and my Roxy Floss pack just waiting...as a reward for finishing a couple of other things first. Good luck with your new pup; while I grew up with "mutts", as an adult I became a Certified Cat Person...so you have my sympathies and my prayers for success, and I'm thankful you've decided not to deprive your parents' cats of one or more of their 9 lives!
Great to see your stitchy updates. Now I need to stitch all the spool projects… btw my boyfriend has had tennis elbow and he swears by the twisty rubber rod thingy (not the technical name 😝) so I hope that helps for you!
Thanks for sharing
Roxy is a beautiful girl .this brings me right back to when we got Pablo..he is beagle/springer cross and loves to sniff ..he is really lead reactive so I understand you challenges…it’s not easy but so worth it 😊
Roxy is a beautiful dog. I hope she adjusts to your family and life quickly. Could Matt have smelled like something that has a bad memory for her? Anything traumatic happen in her past? All of your projects are beautiful! Take care of your elbow. I'm dealing with plantar fascitis right now so have to rest my foot. At least I can stitch!
I'm dealing with tennis elbow as well... since it's inflamed, taking 800mg of Ibuprofen reduces the swelling... it has helped me! I keep thinking about saying something I heard years ago... when you adopt an animal that has been abused, change their name... they associate the abuse to what they are called... just a thought...
Does your friend Ellen sells the patterns of the queens? I would love to make them
not just you: boullion knots are tricky :)
I’m just catching up with your videos, and thank you for sharing Roxy with us. I never had a rescue, but I was wondering if Roxy’s reaction to Mat is a throw back to earlier experiences when she was a puppy (with no fault of Mat)?
We had a female golden retriever who passed away on Dec 1 last year (my son’s birthday poor him), and we also struggled during her first 2 to 3 years, but she became such a close companion, worth every efforts in her formative years.
Happy times with your family, and happy stitching 🧵 🪡
I definitely think that’s part of it. Very very scared - so we will be taking things very slow. ❤️
