  • Every now and again my team puts down a floor where everything seems to work perfectly. The floor looks smooth, no evidence of bubbles or trapped dust, and the curing went according to plan. One of my staff members even mentioned: “Why can’t all projects turn out like this?”.
I looked back at my most successful projects. The projects where everything went smoothly, the results were great. And I realised that these projects had several things in common.

I agree on customers who ask for discounts. They always give you the most trouble.

How do you clean epoxy floors and how would you go about getting scuff marks off?

Hello!! If the house is brand new, and no cars have been in the garage should we have to do anything to prep besides degrease and scrub?

I always recommend a light sanding. Sometimes the troweled concrete may have a very thin layer of loose cement on the top. Best to make sure any loose cement is removed first

How should the appropriate toothed trowel be, how many mm tooth width ; or how should we use a trowel.

For self leveling epoxy I usually use a triangular 5mm or 6mm trowel. This tends to leave about half the thickness on the floor (2.5 - 3 mm)

How easy is for this floors to scratch when they are a solid color?

It really depends on the use. Glossy solid colour floors are more prone to scratches. Or, to be precise the scratches are far more visible. If scratching is an issue you want to opt for softer less glossy polyurethane floors
