Norge is not Italian for Norway, but Norwegian for Norway!
    Great looking bike!

Thanks for the great review. I've reserved one of these as a rental this coming Sunday and wanted to find out a little more about it. This was exactly what I was looking for.

A very fair, nicely done review. I have an old Guzzi that I bought to tinker with, and I'd really love to try out a Norge.

..by the way Norge is in German on Norwegian, in Italian Norway is Norvegia :)
Just to precise and to let you know for future test of hopefully even newer and better version of the Norge...but I don't think it's possibile, the bike is perfect as it is! :)
    Well done Moto Guzzi!

I have it, and I use daily to go at work, belive me, it is easy to use and also in the traffic jam, you can slalom the cars like a big enduro.

Yes dry clutch, it is true that the noise when you Are not running, it is not very nice, but it is one of its particulars.

    I thoght so, but I wasn't sure :)
Anyway, it's a great bike I found it resonably easy to handle, regardless the weight, top comfort, amazing brakes and low rev torque.

some say "norsj" i say nor-g-e. with a norwegian g ;-D (tha same way you use it in Guzzi)
    Otherwise a great review!
I like Guzzi. They present something different than the mainstrem. And they produce bikes in the most bike-friendly landscape possible!

Actually the price range of the Norge is on-par with the ST1300 and just a little bit more than the Concours 14. I the only drawback would be Piaggio's pathetic support network in the US.

Luckily there are some well established dealers who care about after sale support and even parts for older bikes. MG Cycles and Harpers Moto Guzzi have good parts selection viewable online. I had more trouble finding parts for my older (1990) Ninja. Having to resort to making the footpeg/shifter mount because it had been discontinued. Made of cast aluminium it's history if you lay the bike down or even just tip it over.

They are Beautiful bikes...handmade on Lake Como....-and getting less weirdo every year
...face it, great mechanics and construction, but a lot of them were fuggly....the Stelvio
is a too comfy 'Adventure bike'...better than Norge ..stupid name btw...and I''l prolly
get the 1400 Cali....in Canada, the heads save your knees from cold, rain , snow etc.

Actually Norway in German is "Norwegen".
Norge is very very simply norwegian for Norway ;-)

When the crank's rotational axis runs side-to-side of the vehicle, it's transversely mounted (as in many front-wheel drive cars). When the crank's rotational axis runs front-to-back of the vehicle, it's longitudinally mounted (as in many rear-wheel drive cars). V-twin engines are mounted transversely by Harley-Davidson, Victory and their Japanese imitators. Moto Guzzi's V-twin is mounted longitudinally as in some BMWs flat-2's and some Honda V4's and all of their H6's.
    Review, Fail.

AllGoodThingsQ That's true, but it is still referred to as transversely when referring to motorcycles for some reason, so you're both right. The guy is just doing his best to give you a good review.

The engine sits transversly with the crank running longtitudely.
