Watching this really lowered my view of Scott. If you watch you can tell he's trying to shark Shane. He sits in Shane's chair while he was shooting in that direction. Wouldn't mark his fowls or spot up his owed balls like a player who respects the game would(which Shane did for Scott's scratch in the side)for his opponent. It's a game of self willing penalty and called fowl but Scott tried to get a win because he conceded a easy point for Scott. He even cried about hearing the commentators when he scratched. I enjoy watching One Pocket but I barely got through this one.
One pocket and 14.1 are the real billiards games. They take finesse, extreme shot ability, the ability to think 8 to 14 shots ahead and chess player like abilities. Most nine ball and eight ball players today would get chopped to pieces in these games. That is why most people do not like them because the have to think, practice, think some more and practice. I was amazing watching Steve Mizerak, Allen Hopkins, Nick Varner or Buddy Hall play. They had the most unbelievable ball control, placing the cue ball down to the 1/4 inch. Piece of advise for the take a longer shot or showier shot. That equals going home with empty pockets in any game.
nah, i play 9 and 8 ball. I use to play this one fellow who'd only like to play one pocket with me. And I suspect that was because he couldn't run out a rack. But he could shoot decently well with bank shots. It just depends on your preference. I personally don't think one pocket is a well designed game. bonus ball is a lot better.
I wish they would play games in an All-star sort of fashion. Playful games without money or reputation on the line. A way to show off their skill without actually risking anything. I know they could speed these games up if they were sure they could make the tricky shots that keep making themselves available. Just sounds like a more entertaining style of pool.
! 1"Scott waited 4 times for the comments to be made from the commenters to take his shot, 2" on the third game ( Scott owes a ball ) Scott made 4 balls n scratched, he needed to take 3 balls out! (NOT BEING PROFESSIONAL lets shane spot the balls and let him spot only 2 but he comes and checks the balls that shane put on the table 3" he calls the ref on shane because he conceded the game! ( HE DID THE THING WHEN HE WAS PLAYING BUSTAMANTE ) Good game Scott Lol
I do not like how Scott wanders around the table after his shot looking at balls. He should go sit down after his shot, and then he can look at the balls when it is his shot. Scott is a bad loser and a poor sport, he gets mad when he makes a mistake or misses a shot, and he even blames the guys on commentary, or the table, or he says he got a skid, he has a million excuses, and he is very unprofessional at times. The guys on commentary say the player will shot a shot 5 different ways, then the player does one of them, and Scott claims they coached the player on what to shoot, give me a break. Does he think Shane needs to be coached on what shot to shoot, get real man. Scott is a poor sport with a bad attitude. Shane is the best player in America with a fargo of 829, so I doubt the guys on commentary can coach him on any shot Shane has not already seen and thought about 5 times.
By the way , Thanks TAR for giving us this stream. I did enjoy the match, funky pool balls notwithstanding. I personally do not like changing the ball colors. AT ALL ! If we had any leadership in our governing body s it would be ILLEGAL to use any different color balls in any sanctioned tournament. Its no good for the Players, or the commentators, or the Spectators. Matchroom Sport Should Be Fined…….. Ten Million Dollars…. for using the Purple Five Ball. Enough said adios
The color changes on the balls are to make them more easily discernable on TV. The old, darker colors made it hard to distinguish between them for the viewers, especially in rotation games where the balls must be played in order.
Not sure how the fouls were called at this tournament but, didn't Scott foul on his very first shot? He moves the 9 ball with his cue during the shot. Thanks for posting TAR!!
It probably depends on the particular tournament, but I think such fouls are often disregarded in 1P. I remember someone saying that about another match.
All these bullshits by Scott about "no conceding rule", re-rack and so on, are just shark's antics. He tries to make Shane lose his concentration. I've seen a lot of this type of guys in pool halls...
24 minutes of 'fanning, not 1pt... But you are guaranteed to see at least 1 highlight reel shot... Is it worth it... Best game I ever saw this year was bustamante vs frost
The one thing I'll say about the cyclop balls is that they're fewer colors that are so dark that it's difficult to see the edge when it's against the rail. I'd prefer the 8 ball were grey, or which and black checkered so I could see the edge.
Logan Harrington With a table-length shot, shooting from the foot rail, and caroming at a narrow angle off of a near-frozen 5 ball? A lot of risk, for little gain, and a good way to sell out.
its funny, never noticed it before but these two guys have kinda similar strokes. its like the American Filipino pump stroke or something. very lose and the que action looks like its a lot of wrist
This is a game called "One Pocket". Generally considered the most difficult pool game. Each player has "One Pocket" to shoot at - one of the corner pockets by the rack. You try to make balls in your pocket while risking if you miss do you leave a shot for your opponent into their pocket? A good safety type shot is to move balls to your side while leaving the cue ball near their pocket. First player to put 8 balls in his pocket wins.
Cute Filipino in my opinion it's a beautiful and fascinating game to watch. I don't play it either, but mostly because my skills are not good enough to play it properly. I consider it a game for master players.
This game is much more about position than potting ability. It's not worth risking a pot cause your opponent might run the table out. The reason why people compare the game to chess is because the two games have similar strategies. You want to do multiple things with each shot. with each safety shot, you also want to slowly move the balls closer and closer to your own pocket or into advantageous spots on the table. Most people find it too slow because they don't have the patience for the subtle nuances of positional play.
It is a foul in the men's tournaments. In the poorer tournaments (like this, I guess), they allow such drunkard mistakes. They qualifying it by saying "it's not all ball fouls".
If a player breaks a rule that goes against their opponent then they should be called on it. Scott calling the ref because Shane broke the "no concede" rule at the end of a game is just cry baby bullshit. Scott Frost lost some respect from me on that one. Otherwise great match for both players and I enjoyed watching. Thanks to TAR for the post!
Rules are rules. Always know the rules... If not, suffer the consequences you may. Knowledge is beneficial. Announcers were right, if you're going to enforce them you have to be consistent. If you're not going to enforce it, then what's the rule there for? Does no good to have it. No matter what. Scott Frost was total class. Gave the referee full respect. When the ref made the ruling, he moved on, and played it out all the way to the end. Great match Truly enjoyed watching
Who cares whether the announcers like a shot or not. Obviously, the announcers aren't playing. Just talk about what the PLAYERS are doing without YOUR OPINION!
He appears to point it out. Impossible to see if anyone was watching. Then he waits for a call, then gives himself permission. Yet another sketchy thing in this game.
horrible colors for the balls who ever picked the new colors must be some kind of "interior designer" the balls need to stand out against the table cloth not blend with it...!!!!!
hardly could hear the commentators.... why don't you hold a notebook in front of your mouth so the players can not "read" or hear what you are saying... for this to happen there is need for higher level of thinking....
At 16:30 Shane passes up a common one-pocket shot that he should have shot. The 10-ball carom-banks towards his pocket while the stripe ball its frozen to 2-rails towards his pocket. A big mistake not to shoot this especially considering he was behind at that point. He just hasn't learned the game very well.
Possession is 9 "PARTS," or "points" of the law, not 9/10ths.. lol.. The origin of this phrase comes from Old English law, meaning there were 9 different writs the King set forth to define property ownership.. These eventually evolved into property ownership laws, and eventually there were those who completely misquoted the proverb, which is why we now have the incorrect Americanized version, "possession is 9/10ths of the law," which is completely incorrect..
wishmasterbrazen Curious people ask questions, they don't instantly insult the game. From what you said, you only know 8-ball (or blackball). That should put you in a position of humility, given they are the easiest games of pool around. Especially concerning one-pocket, which might very well be the hardest game you can play on a 9". Curious people are humble. Curiosity is humility towards the complexity of the world. That kind of curiosity is what led to science. Insulting religious people when you lack the qualities that makes a scientific person is paradoxical. In short, STFU, n00b.
***** I play 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, snooker, . And have been playing for 4 years, i was just curious.. And yet in your statement itself you are saying curiosity is a good thing. So why is me being curious not a good thing? Your entire comment contradicts itself :/ I was the one asking a question, and my insult to the other guy was simply because he was insulting me for absolutely no reason, all because i simply was curious about this game. And then went on to learn how to play it. Also" stfu noob'"? seriously? how old are you. -_-. That has to be the most immature insult i have ever heard .
wishmasterbrazen Simple thing, really : Curiosity : I have never seen this game of pool. How does it work? I'm used to ball-in-hand. How come this game doesn't have it? Being a smartass know-it-all : huh i have never seen this type of pool? no ball in hand for hitting opponets balls?.. random almost unfair lol See how the first one asks questions relative to one's subjective knowledge, while the second passes a judgement on the game immediately, although the author doesn't even know how the game works? It's simple, really. As for the immaturity of my outro : lol, umad, bro?
wishmasterbrazen Here is a good example, for educative purposes : You're watching your 9-ball videos, when a wild 8-ball-only-player appears : "lol never seen this game. why so few balls? they too bad to play with full set lol? also it's harder to see which set is which." How do you react? Honestly.
Watching this really lowered my view of Scott. If you watch you can tell he's trying to shark Shane. He sits in Shane's chair while he was shooting in that direction. I'd rather watch snooker. This seems to have some of the same strategy and positional play, but it's just too slow!
you're full of shit. Gatekeeping is what builds toxicity in communities, shut up and enjoy the game.
i agree with you.......
There is no way they are thinking 14 balls ahead. You only need to look at the key balls, and and play a few ahead.
Lmao at 8 to 14 shots ahead
Thanks for posting this TAR. So looking forward to sit down and watch this :D
one pocket is the next level of pool. You have to be good at pool with solid knowledge in order to play and enjoy this type of game.
:) Cheers!

People like to make 1 pocket more difficult than it really is.
davids11131113 Well, the whole point of one pocket is to make things difficult... for your opponent!
when Scott scratched on the purple stripped ball only 2 were spotted instead of 3
Keep Rollin lol they only spot the ball he made and the ball he owes for scratching
I wish they would play games in an All-star sort of fashion. Playful games without money or reputation on the line. A way to show off their skill without actually risking anything. thank you so much, wanted to see this one
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO! HD QUALITY N GOOD COMMENTARIES!!!
Fun to listen to commentators. They can't even agree, or know what the player will try. The game has so many complexities, and possibilities.
@ the 50 min mark after Scott's scratch they spotted a wrong amount of balls. Shane did, on Scott's behalf. Not that it made much difference...

Great shooting....great commentary.
A super cute girl that's a fan of one-pocket?..now that's a rarity indeed 😍
What is the purpose of a no conceding rule?
Love the videos. Could you put some of the Orcollo matches up?
i love pool, such a beautiful game to watch
zachariahm10 Can't stop! :D

adios
The announcers sound as interested as i am
The color changes on the balls are to make them more easily discernable on TV. The old, darker colors made it hard to distinguish between them for the viewers, especially in rotation games where the balls must be played in order.
Well, they have emphatically, obviously failed. Worse than the pink four ball which also was a blunder.
Leave the colors alone. Use better cameras!
Not sure how the fouls were called at this tournament but, didn't Scott foul on his very first shot? He moves the 9 ball with his cue during the shot.
Thanks for posting TAR!!
Wow, nobody is being aggressive nor taking any long bank shots. Killing me.
45:46 finally~!
It probably depends on the particular tournament, but I think such fouls are often disregarded in 1P. I remember someone saying that about another match.
can somebody plz explain why Scott kept hit on stripe balls which arent his ball...? i thought he should pocket whole color balls...?
i am kinda try to learn how to play...so it will be so nice if somebody satisfy my curiosity★
the colors or numbers dont matter in one pocket ,it only counts if you make any ball in your pocket
All these bullshits by Scott about "no conceding rule", re-rack and so on, are just shark's antics. He tries to make Shane lose his concentration.
I've seen a lot of this type of guys in pool halls...
Oh wow, this one isn't 'Members Only.' How lucky for me.! Lol
24 minutes of 'fanning, not 1pt... But you are guaranteed to see at least 1 highlight reel shot... Is it worth it... Best game I ever saw this year was bustamante vs frost
what's the deal with the quarter on the bottom rail??
HD Vids! Nice!
Does anybody know what pool ball set thy are using I would really appreciate it and even more if you could link it thanks
Commentator said they were Cyclops :) But i am not sure about the cue ball.
Milo Zeus Cyclops and regular standard billiards cue ball
The one thing I'll say about the cyclop balls is that they're fewer colors that are so dark that it's difficult to see the edge when it's against the rail. I'd prefer the 8 ball were grey, or which and black checkered so I could see the edge.
Say Truman,what color is “which “……? 1:02:50
Scottish shocking Shane and 1:45:47
1:14:15 major missed opportunity to set a trap by making the 7 in th corner and freezing behind the 8.
Logan Harrington With a table-length shot, shooting from the foot rail, and caroming at a narrow angle off of a near-frozen 5 ball? A lot of risk, for little gain, and a good way to sell out.

Very good hi def picture.
Did Scott actually try to get ShaneDQ'd at ua-cam.com/video/e3iTwhVF3yo/v-deo.html 1:36:45 for conceding the game?
sketchy
So Scott tattletales on Shane for conceding ?....lol
Does that surprise you coming from him that's the kind of person he is
every single pool video titled X v Y, X - the first name is always the winner.

vary good HD
to keep track of the number of fouls they've made
I don't understand how to play this game, I DON'T GET IT!
+Cute Filipino
Basically: you have one corner pocket and the opponent has the other. Make 8 points (over 15) and you win.
AngrierGorilla
Yes that is how you win. But still I don't get one pocket. I played pool for years but never played this game.

I agree, but around here you have to play it, it's the only game players are gambling on here.
True, they need post editing, like poker nobody wants to watch endlessly folding into a loss,
