Anyone remember the 2007/8 financial crash , when UK councils had millions of pounds of Council Tax money stashed in Icelantic Banks , being used in dodgy dealings , which all disappeared , instead of being used to provide services to the UK people ? ......and every year your Council Tax goes up . Is this practise still going on ?
The money sloshing around in Council accounts was not so much from Council Tax as largely from the sale of council housing. When Thatcher allowed Counciks to sell their housing stock those councils rubbed their hands in glee at tbe amount of revenue they could raise. But the Government realised how much those Councils would get and blocked them from using the money for such things as homebuilding. They did not want local councils to have that level of financial clout. Councils could only use the money to build local libraries or put roundabouts on roads, all sorts of anodyne projects. And that is how local councils had those huge sums sloshing about in their accounts. The Icelandic Government offered fantastic levels of interest to those councils who deposited their dormant funds in Icelandic banks and the rest is history.
Yes it still goes on, reserves held far exceed what is required.
If councils ran balanced budgets, then council tax could be much reduced!
Every citizen is supposed to be given a 10k bursary from the council when they reach the age of 18 years old...
This is to help with starting out renting a property etc to delete homelessness. This bursary is hidden from the public and is being stolen
Yes, I remember it well. Iceland is possibly the only true democracy. All major decisions are made by the people of Iceland via binding referendums. When the Icelandic people were asked "SHOULD THE BANK OF ICELAND COMPENSATE THOSE WHO LOST MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN THE CRASH"

If we're supposedly paying for police services, why is it that they're not coming out for the majority of crimes committed against us, you only get a Crime Number at best and you're left to deal with it yourself! Another situation is the Two-Tier Policing we currently have in UK, I am not paying the council towards police services if I end up in prison for a tweet that is construed as criticism against two tier policing or people being murdered in the streets by knife wielding monsters, where is the police to stop this from happening? We've had over 50 stabbings in UK since Kier Starmer came to power and it's only getting worse! I am not paying council tax for me to be at risk of injury or death to due to unchecked mass immigration!
You need to learn many police forces are not paid by councils anymore, they are paid by a private corporation. Ad such are now a business. And you can find this out by seeing the name of the force listed as a business in the appropriate places..
If you manage to gain access to a police officers pay slip or bank account you see the name of the corporation who is paying their salary. This is how I found out the deception.
Maybe we are being billed for the upkeep of illegal migrants, something that goes against my wishes. I would have my hard earned cash spent on services for my locality , schools, streets, elderly etc., not putting up illegal grifters in hotels .

Just to add insult to injury I live in a private road maintained by the residents via a fund. We have no street lights & other than a bin collection I receive nothing from the local council. We are all being fleeced locally!! Furthermore due to lack of Police presence a security firm patrol the area which is again funded by the locals. Many people here have no clue & pay their council tax like good little boys & girls. Ignorance benefits these corporations & thats the issue. Thank you Richard & well done Veronica 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Not sure what you class as an "open space", I live in a city that's a concrete jungle.
Police are useless and don't attend if a crime is committed.
Never had the need to call the fire brigade but I'd be happy to pay an insurance premium in the unlikely event I may need their services.
I use leisure services but have to pay for both the gym and swimming pool.
Myself and my elderly father pay for his healthcare, currently costing us just under £5000 per month.
So what exactly do "I" get for my extortionate council tax bills, my bins emptied every fortnight?

Don’t forget the council tax paid goes to a central government dept, they then decide how much the council will receive. Oh almost forget Ulez which I am on the border of. I refuse to change my car which is perfectly suitable & reliable.

I received a few car fines during covid lockdowns. The fines company contacted me and threatened me with a numerous amount of penalties and jail time. Told them that they breached my civil rights during the lockdowns and in turn relinquished the right to govern me. They haven't contacted me since😂.

When the council off loaded their freehold on properties my friend asked to buy her freehold but was unable. The cost would have been say 1 500 pounds. The new company painted the windows et al and demanded 10 000 pounds for the job.
It doesn’t take an expert to discover the company that paid a huge sum for the freehold interest promptly recovered their cost with interest.
This is CRIMINAL.

Love it :) In Australia the Federal Government attempted to slap me with a statement demanding monies for overpayment of benefits. This was the infamous ROBODEBT scandal under the Morrison Government. I answered the woman, " fine, send me an invoice. She said what" ? I said an invoice, I don't pay on statements, you show me all entries whereby I can contest if necessary and upon mutual agreement of outstanding monies, I will then pay." Never heard another thing from them. Sadly, many people suffered but were compensated eventually through class action.

I been doing this type of letter writing for good 15+ years now, doing claims, on the police/ council etc, recently using my trust to Seattle bills... only 2 days ago slapped a 32 grand intellectual property claim on the police for using my name (registered as my trade mark)...Its so nice to see and watch Richards Channel growing well..... wasn't many of us around 10 years ago, everybody thought we were mad...nice to see the work everybody has put in, is paving the way, making it easy for everyone else......I remember the police raiding my home, fitting me up with bullshit, because I caught the courts barrister with his knickers down for fraud.. lol. I had him and the courts under so much pressure for corruption...so they used the police to intimidate my family, which worked as my wife could not take the pressure.. were I was laughing every day in their face....the last time they arrested me, for nothing, I refused to leave the cells and they did not know what to do...I was having the time of my life watching the police arguing among themselves.. anyway all the best people.

If people knew where their taxes were actually spent they’d stop paying them.
That's the reason I stopped some 30 years ago. Even as a business owner I refused payment.
In the early years I stayed in her majesty's hotels. But after several years of private court battles I was proven correct. I made private claims upon all my stolen items and goods and served legal issues upon all individual peoplw involved and upto date I've received just over five million pounds in compensation and it's still going.
The best part is many of the individuals pay me a monthly portion of their wages, and will do for the remainder of their lives.
I am around 50 years old and love not having to work nor pay any agency a penny. I live totally free.
Would I recommend it for others... no not unless your ready to loose all you have, and fight for your freedoms.
Some people are better of just following the system, as it does protect them along as they be good children and follow all orders.
A free person should not have another person tell them what they can and can't do.
At least some of my taxes are spent paying for the benefits received by a fair number of Vobes' guests.

I have taken much information from you Richard along with many other videos and websites. I've used a combination of all of them to ask a number of questions of the council that they cannot answer and refuse to enter into correspondence with me so they don't get paid.
They won't send invoices which would show their dubious accounting of public money.
I’m a full time student and the council screwed up with my exemption by their own admission. I quickly received a hand-delivered letter and on the envelope it literally said ‘This letter contains citation or intimidation from (city) Sheriff Court’.
Intimidation? I couldn’t believe it. Of course they also wanted to charge me for the lovely gentleman who delivered the letter to me to the sum of £80. It was all waived ultimately but I can’t believe how quickly it escalated because of their own error and failure to communicate with themselves.

Me too, the council just ignores my letters. I’ve had summons and liability orders (fake). 2 visits from the debt company, didn’t speak to them. I sent them a notice of liability, asking them for obligation in writing to be produced otherwise do not trespass.

As for "thinking about doing this"....just stop paying; The demands will come and you will figure out your own way of dealing with 'them'; Rule No.1...don't breathe life into IT (the corporation) by writing to IT; Go for the CEO and address any communiques to him/her by however they title their Name/NAME; You should be able to find their name etc. but if not, go for the highest 'officer' you can find.

Ive had run ins with louise chapman amonsts others! Im disabled on full benifit support, when my daughrer reached 18 she bacame liable for council taxes. Even though central government was paying 100% as axsingle occupant for me! but louise chapman felt my daughter also needed to pay 100% of a multiple occupation meaning my household had to pay 175% of the actual rate! Portsmouth Council is a corrupt fraudulant business.....
If your daughter is registered as your carer then surely she should be exempt.

She has spent the last 5 years sofa surfing cause we can't afford for her to live here regularly and she can't afford even a room in a shared house because of the heavy migrant presence here is both driving up prices to london levels and tgeg are all taken by peopke sponsored by the government!!

Acts statutes bills and legislation are not laws my friemd.. they are nothing more than rules and regulations you agree to follow.
If something is a LAW then it applies to each individual person and offers no exclusions to anyone. ie. Murder, theft etc... so if a policeman murdered a person he is charged.
But if a police person breaks the speed limit or drives through red lights, he is exempt... as he is not breaking a LAW, only a regulation that people call a law....

Shear brilliance. But here is the problem. Council will wait and when Veronica sells her property the State Revenue Office (I am in Australia but UK has same, same) will take the money out as back payment with interest, and thus more. Veronica can then take that to court, but that will be a process, years down the track. But that is ok if you have the stomach to do it and the time. I am doing this with speeding fines. I take them to court, sometimes I get out of paying sometimes not (errors in the application of the speeding fine). They sent a "statement" on the last one that I did not win. You then run this process. They can't take out of your estate when you die or sell. I found that so refreshing and well thought out. Veronica, you are a genius and such a wit.

Of most interest, whenever clowns state emphatically they are acting according to legislation and are exempt, the first response unless you want to enjoy a longer process, would be ‘please direct me to the exemption clause’.
Of interest, her final letters to the legal beagle et al, which provided her autograph but not signature - and therefore no longer declaring herself a citizen or slave etc., - didn’t appear to receive any reply. 😁

I spent 14 years fighting Stockport council. I sold the property. Had to prove i no longer owned it by a solicitors letter along with a letter telling them i would'nt correspond with them again. 2 years later they started sending me bills. One more letter from me saying i'll see them in court stopped them. Guess what. 6 months ago they started again. PLEASE GOD, MAKE THEM STOP.

Many people would ask, - why am I paying a Billing Charge for any Council Services that I personally don't or never use anymore since many households will only need to have their Rubbish collected, and their Local Pavements Maintained and Repaired.
Other Council Services depend entirely upon whether or not you own a Road Vehicle, or have Children that go to School, which means you should only receive an Invoice from your Council directly related to The Council Services that you have actually personally used as Councils should NOT be able to Bill you for any Services you did not use for the periods of time any Invoice would cover weather any VAT was added, or not. Road repairs and maintenance should be paid for by those who own Motor Vehicles and School usage should only be paid for by those who send their Children to School.
With Council Tax increasing for less Council Services, then an Invoice for Services only used is now a must, while also everyone should have the Rights to cancel any or all Council Services if there is a Private Contractor/Operator in their Area who can provide the same level of Service at a cheaper price.
Just like with TV Licences, Personal Household Services should be for The Householder to decide too have or not and NOT the Council, or The BBC.

How do we deal with this in NZ??? We pay “rates” which are supposed to pay for rubbish collection, public amenities etc. But they base the amount of rates on supposed house and land value! NOT services supposedly provided

Over around 15 years of research across many fields I learned where the tax of working people go. Any taxes paid by a person for working... goes directly to HMRC, out of that pool come the year end, 70% goes out to the vatican and two other private corporations I've been unable to pinpoint by name, but its in regards to Brittan borrowing money hundreds of years ago to build and expand its empire. We are still paying these people back who lent us the money. People don't grasp a government borrows money from privately owned banks.... not itself.

I used to work in revs & bens for a local authority and it was the same there. Council tax was my specialised subject.
You become robotic and also unable to move outside of those lines because the system is setup in such a rigid way on purpose. As an employee, it is impossible to navigate outside of those lines because they are not setup for it. Of course it is deliberate.
You will be surprised at how many of their staff cannot grasp what this lady has been asking for. It is simple but they will all think the lady is daft.
Another view I always found strange is that management at the council always referred to the public as 'customers' yet would treat them as criminals at times.
Oh, and the summons, is as invitation to attend court and accept fault. The signatures are printed, by a printer, not inked individually. They not signed by anyone.

Expediency of prosecution will vary from case to case. In Veronica's case, with it being a shortfall of £150 it likely isn't worth the costs. That's why they use the word 'may', not as Vobes said 'will'. Mafia don't use words like 'may cut off a horse's head'.
But if you work and your liability council tax is in the £1000's - it almost certainly will go to the Magistrates Court. Nobody needs a CCJ. Quibbling over an invoice for council tax won't work. Council's aren't required to send you an invoice. They send you an annual bill, with a breakdown of where the funds go.

So is the premise that local government has to invoice you for Tax. In court it's all about what is reasonable. Failing to pay £5 per month and then stating a piece of 1882 legislation demanding an invoice, when the council have already given you an annual bills and reminders is not a reasonable defence after 2 years of non-payment of tax.

In Australia just ask for a tax invoice as payment of council rates only gets you a receipt....a receipt is for goods exchanged, did you receive any goods?? Why will they never give you a tax invoice as it is not a legal tax let alone lawful.

You'll be laughed at as there's nothing in the LGFA 1992 about invoices. It's a statutory demand and nothing to do with contract. Stay away from this nonsense and look at Peacekeepers and what Marc has achieved in his case last week re: CT.

Yep, I've experienced this. I got a court summons for non-payment. I phoned up and asked them to send a bill when payments were due and advising that I would pay any bills sent within 24 hours of receipt. The said that they cannot send bills out!
Makes zero sense. If they can send a demand letter why can't they send a bill? Literally people who change a washer for your kitchen tap write you a little handwritten bill or invoice and then give you a receipt. So if there are no bills and no invoices what does the " billing" department do? Just sit on their hands?
