We did this out of necessity about 5 years ago bc a conference rival taught its LBs to sprint through daylight caused by pulling guards (&/or back blocks) to the point where they became really good at wreaking havoc and blowing power up in the backfield. This tackle pull blocking scheme completely neutralized that approach. We just added a “Tiger” tag to our power play call, which stood for “Tackle Instead of Guard”
RPO with a backside slant would negate that “run through “ by the BSB after you ring up a couple of big gainers on him with the X running wide open into the secondary!
