Thanks for sharing. Good cruise. Your assistance in passage the Lowestoft-Plymouth certainly helped Ian prepare for the main target - Jester Azores Challenge 2024.
Sam Tyrrell. Thanks so much for making this video. It captures the challenges and highs and lows of our passage down channel brilliantly. It was certainly a bumpy ride. I'm sending this message from the Azores so a huge thank you for your part in getting me here. No steaks on passage here but My cooker will forever be Samuel Taylor Cooker. PS George is dead George II is AWOL Sven is tied in knots Water seems to have found its way in everywhere. Repairs start tomorrow.
That Victoria 30 is a lovely boat. I’ve made offers on a few (and missed them) and ended up with my wife’s favourite boat, a Westerly Konsort. Please someone, swap my Konsort for a good Victoria 30…
Looks like a really nicely setup and well kept little boat. I wonder how he rigs a storm jib? Love that cooker, they're beautifully made. I did explore buying one at one stage but they're not cheap new, plus shipping fee here to Aussie. I suspect Ian's steak cooking skills could be vastly improved ;)
Yes they are not cheap units and the spare parts would also need to be acquired. I found in Aus any steak that isn't chargrilled is not worth eating 😆 this one tasted pretty spot on to me.
In the UK you need to source your steak so it isn't pumped full of water. This was from M&S but still full of water. I suspect the point is more the chips. How many boat ovens will cook oven chips
@@ianabbott751 The chips looked delicious. I hadn't realised this was the version with an oven. Those cookers are a real work of art. I'd give my back teeth for one.
Thanks for watching, The Vic 30 was nice to sail and well balanced in a stronger wind. Comfortable cabin. A good layout internally, lots of locker space and good sized forward cabin.
Couldn't find the promised lazylink in the description, to the jester challenge despite not using a sextant. Had to use my own initiative and the magnifying glass icon.

Great vid
Cool video very nice passage. Bet the bar stools were rocking
Thanks Sam, nice sail and video. Cheers from Oz.
Real sailing , enjoyable viewing well edited. My new pontoon neighbour has the same boat. Very nice lines .
Great vid Sam, cheers from NZ
Thanks for posting, really enjoyed, and made all the better by being berthed three boats down from where you ended up in Mayflower marina. Fair winds
Some beautiful skies there Sam. What a year it's been so far for sailing weather though 😕
Brilliant thank you steve in ipswich

I have a removable inner forestay which I can hank on sails. I have a No1 a No2 and a storm jib. Yet to use the storm jib. And long may that last.
@@ianabbott751 nice!
Good video! Lots info 👍
Any thoughts on the Vic 30?

What is your camera mounted on to compensate for the boat rocking?
Go pro 12 has excellent motion stability, no gimbal
@@samsails9820 Thankyou very much for that. Enjoy your boat. I am alas boat less.
@@dulls8475 thankyou for watching
