Not heard anyone address the hot brass issue before. Great job
You’ll be nervous. That’s good. Don’t try to cover for it by acting funny, especially if you’re with friends you might not want to look nervous in front of. Also bench it ejector side up so the RSO can see into the chamber. Don’t talk crazy, don’t talk politics, don’t bug people in general. And do not point that thing anywhere but down range. Asking for help politely is always welcome.
As a new shooter, this is appreciated.
Ranges….. 99.9% are owned by someone but open to the public. You are on someone’s property as their guest. Follow their rules or go somewhere else. I see folks, usually rapid fire Rambos, who think they can do what they want on a “public” range. Truly public ranges(owned by the public) can be very dangerous as there is usually no range officer and no one to deter idiots.
For myself, my semi-autos are field stripped in the bag, or on the table if not in use. Revolver cylinders are open.
Thanks for the video. Very good points.
Somebody make a GIF of the "Hot Brass Dance" please!

this instructor giving tips while his ears gettin blown out by dude poppin off in the bg. nuts!
SHOES! Wear good, lace up shoes. Not sandals, no flip-flops, not crocs, but SHOES. No hot brass wandering around the feet or between the toes, dammit.
This man is an excellent instructor multiple years of experience and also able to make it understandable for the layman it was an honor to learn from you Mister Allen and I look forward to hopefully getting more lessons
Going to range today first time excellent video sir!
Thanks, great information.
Very informative video and always a pleasure to hear from someone with good knowledge.
Great information! Short and to the point!
A better solution is to make a better range to shoot if brass is hitting you from the shooter next to you.with all them rules for everyone else maybe you should set some for your self.....(to all the shooting facilities )
Great advice/tips.
Well done. Crystal clear thanks!
The "hot brass dance" is my only dance move
Great info . One can never learn too much.
Good Info. BigThmsUp.
Great video, thanks for sharing. At 1:51 shouldn't the firearm be laid down with the open chamber pointing up instead of down?
We had a completely wasted out of his mind drunk that shot a hole in the roof of his car yesterday at my local range. And people say guns and alcohol don't mix!
He doesn't seem to know that hearing and eye protection must be worn before entering an indoor shooting range.
Keep your lane or area clean. Dont fling trash, spent brass, empty boxes etc all over. 👎. Also do not use 🤳🏻📹🎥💻📱 without permission. Be considerate of others, take guns that are clean, safe & in good working order. I've seen shooters pull out 120yr old guns or firearms that have not been cleaned, oiled in 30yr. Also, DO NOT use hand loaded or reload type ammunition. That's not safe & may be a hazard 🚧🚨🛑 to orhers.
Dear Mr Allen I would like to know if royal range sells the canvas range bag that you showed on Aug 7, 2017

He was most likely in range 2. The firing hear was most likely in range one. These ranges are literally next door to each other
