@@ab-jf3tk on feelings yeah they are brothers, they grew up together. However, Charlie is Nancy's nephew, while Oscar is Nancy and Darren's son. Nancy is more his mum as she raised him after Becca sied when Charlie was a baby

The scene with Oscar was what really broke me. It really made me cry. the signing made it more impactful. Really well done.

So Oscar got Charlie to talk to someone. Even though it was sad it was a touching moment. Darren is one strong person to deal with all of this. Charlie can overcome this it may take time but he'll get there
OA I honestly hope he will get there. Also leave a Child to help another one? Aka a little Brother helping the big Brother when it’s clearly the other way around? That’s something I’m still trying to understand. But yet it’s still sweet and yes sad at the same time I do hope Charlie will get help. 😢

This was so emotional. Fantastic job to everyone involved with Hollyoaks. I really hope Charlie can overcome his anxiety. He's a nice lad but needs all the help he can get 😢

The last scene is so beautiful that I was crying. Great acting and writing. I really think that it could win the British soap awards scene of the year if nominated.
This whole story is extremely well done. Charlie's pain and his guilt for so much that is nowhere near his fault, as well as Darren's deep empathy for what Charlie is going thru because he knows exactly how he feels, and also his helplessness because he just doesn't know how to help him. Everyone heals in their own ways and what worked for Darren won't necessarily work for Charlie.
I don't like hollyoaks but for some reason this story has struck a chord. I usually find it over produced but the scene with Oscar and Charlie in the hospital room was brilliantly done and made me really emotional

Oscar is such a sweet and caring lad happy he got through to Charlie same as he did when Yazz was hurt by Dave making fun of her.
Dee Valley Hospital is not the same without Misbah bring her back.
And yet cindy sleeps with the creep. That's why i never liked her. She has no morals. I miss misbah. Where is she? I wouldn't be surprised if this show get rid of her offscreen like they did with walter.
I know I wish she was still at the hospital she could of helped as well and also helped Darren understand as well. She's so good with families

OA also seeing how anxiety and depression is apart of mental health reminded me of this quote. 😔 “It’s not really a measure of mental health to be well-adjusted in a society that’s very sick.”
I’m crying because I been there I been in and out of hospital because of my depression so this was very emotional and sad for me especially the end bit. I was 12 when I first got depressed and I still feel like I don’t want to be here but I have kids so I stick around for them and for my boyfriend. This broke my heart ❤😢Thank you all for bringing awareness to mental health. ❤
Poor Charlie I hope you get some help and pull through and who knows you may just find peace

Its so difficult to wake up most mornings wishing that you didn't, feeling that no one knows you're breaking and you're on your own, there's a brutality to life when you're so isolated that there is only one way to turn, and thats why so many people aren't here, because there's darkness that not everyone can navigate through, i experience these things, so with that said, if you're struggling, i hope you find your way through the darkness! People you never expect care more than you know

I really enjoy the special bond between Charlie and Oscar. Charlie been through hell and back over the last couple of years I truly hope in time with the support of his family and friends Charlie can get the help he needs it just take one step at a time.

@ChelseyLinden the last I remember is in 2017 in December JJ was planning on killing himself because of when he was a detective he accidentally shot Theo and felt incredibly guilty by the mistake. In fact there a center episode of him writing goodbye letters to everyone prior to him dressing in his uniform and heading to the square where it happen and tried to luckily Gabi got there in time in stopping him and help him through the night though Lani took it the wrong way. But overall JJ did went through it but he had his family and friends by his side to help him by.

Oh my OA poor Charlie that scene when they were in the car and Charlie stopped breathing I thought he was going to die but good thing they got to the hospital in time. I love me how Oscar was there for him also leave a Child to help another one? Aka a little Brother helping the big Brother when it’s clearly the other way around that’s something I’m still trying to understand. But that part to when Darren was also translating what Oscar was saying to his Father Jack was so beautiful and amazing plus if Darren saw Charlie’s lyrics he should’ve known what that song was clearly about and he was putting the pieces together when he was talking to Tony about it too. (plus the actor who plays Darren also used to be a singer and a dancer because he was in a singing group as well) I do hope Charlie will get help and when Nancy comes back to the village hopefully she’ll know about this and she won’t blame Darren for it or anything I do love #Dancy I even hope Darren’s depression won’t come back to haunt him. 😟🤞🏻

OA also I know how this feels to commit suicide. When I was a Teenager in my Junior Year I was in ROTC class and we took a field trip to the USS Lexington (if any of you don’t know what that is you can ask) all the cadets were at the beach (even Gramps was chaperoning) and I was in the ocean I was swimming out to the sea and as I was halfway there towards the deep the cadets saw what I was doing and my Friend James Beeson told me to please swim back for him but I didn’t however he caught up to me and he pushed me back (got lots of strength give him credit) he always helped me when I was feeling down or sad and he was my Best Friend. I’m lucky to be alive I get that but some of these People on here too are also making me feel like relapsing by taking my own life again just because they’re annoyed with me and deleting their threads just because I talk to others on their threads. 😭💔

I stopped watching holly oaks, last I watched was Juliet’s diagnosis.
They built up Charlie’s story, and honestly they prosecuted it so well. Had me in tears!!!people need to understand depression I’m teens/kids is real and they need support/help.

The fact that he still hasn't been sent to a mental health facility astounds me. Misbah got imran help immediately but darren refuses to see that this kid has way too many issues that he can't fix on his own.

@vallarfaxgaming unfortunately that's not reality. As an aunt who has watched her 18 year old nephew try to take his life for the past 4 years. The mental health service is shocking and they send you home to be with parents.
His last attempt was last week he was left on a drip which was empty and draining blood out of him for over 10 hours on his own in a room not checked upon and he told them if you send me home I will be dead within the week and guess what ?? He is home and has a new death date. Because that is sad reality the mental health team are no use and think a 30 minute phone call once a week is enough and it's not.
Its not to do with him being an adult now as this has been going on for 4 years and he had asked to be sectioned and they say he is better of at home with his mom.

Whatever writer thinks this is "anxiety" needs to do some research, most people with anxiety don't try to drown themselves
You are wrong there chum. The anxiety he was getting wasn't the typical type you get when you have to do a speech (for example). It's constant, over and over, sometimes for no reason, and can last awhile like he said in the car. Which then can lead to depression due to not being able to deal with it anymore.
It's only been included because it's a trending topic. It won't be mentioned again in a year or two. Like about 10 years ago when a random female character in every soap suddenly developed bipolar but never a less-discussed mental health issue like BPD

I know depression is exist, but Charlie bring this to himself, he has a family , the best parents kids can ever had. He wanted something that he doesn't need to know, and things get too far and hard to handle anymore. Life will never be easy, you need to think far before you ruined your own life and end up killed
why could they not both have drowned...... so we can have an end to this boring bad parent and awful son plot..... the story of darren's life 'banging', 'cheaiting', or in a dark place.... sometimes banging in a dark place..... yawnnnnnnn.
Prob here in the village is people talk and ask questions and try proving points at the wrong time.
So sad about Darren. But he doesn't kno when to say what. And he didn't even notice Charlie but go on talking. Such idiots. Why not call am ambulance first for medi help.

What Darren said is wrong ... Asking Charlie to say the truth. It could have been shown as just a accident. Now Charlie would face humiliation all over the village and it will worsen the situation. And in this hospital why is there that stupid one woman as a doctor for all kinds of illnesses and surgeries and accidents. A doctor can't say they can't do anything unless he tells truth. Why are the writers making false stuff in this story.
Charlie Burton will learn to harness the power he must or there will be problems for the whole village
