LOL, this guy is sore. What you are describing is exactly what air-heads have been doing for years. The 996 is an awesome car, dynamically vastly superior to the 993 or anything older. Massive jump forwards. The fried egg headlights are drop-dead gorgeous, and the lines are still slim and understated, unlike the later cars. Truly a highpoint of the line.
By the way both the 997 and 991 sold more numbers than the 996, so I don't know what it says for their owners, if they didn't win. Maybe it wasn't just 996 owners voting for their own cars, hey? One thing about 996 owners, they are in my experience much more likely to customise their cars and do something unique, whereas the older cars are mostly subject to pressure to stay stock, and the newer ones are already factory-customised to some extent. The 996 is the perfect base for making your very own.
Remember how cheap G models were not so long ago? Much cheaper than 996s? How quickly people forget. Where is the famed Porsche solidarity here? Porsche is supposed to be the brand without ridiculous snobbery. I love all Porsches personally. You should give it a re-think.
@@SF_Native No 🤣 I don't own a Porsche. The 996 is the one of the most affordable ways to join the 911 club and it's a nice car. Is it the best Porsche? No of course not. Is it in the top few? No. So for it to take 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize (from memory) seems a bit weird. That's all.
Era of the 996 is now! 🎊 🎉
Owner of a 996.1 with oem aero, LSD and cable throttle here. Love the 996 appreciation! Have owned mine for over 15 years.
So happy for the 996 wins in 2024 (I'm a 996TT owner - so a bit biased)!
I just bought a clean 996.2 with 37k original miles. PUMPED!
Go 996’s
People are finally realising the ugly duckling is actually Cinderella ❤
So basically loads of people owning cheap 996s decided to vote for the 996s. They've got egg on their faces.

Guessing the original poster lost to 996s at this event lol
