For a Quest game this seems well worth the price (If you own aQ3 now even better). The mount portion, riding through the desert gave me open world vibes but I'm gonna chill and assume it was just a mission or something. **edit** I commented too fast, IT IS OPEN WORLD!! That's major!!!
This game is insane. Played around 20 hours now and it became half another game, with the second mortal you get to possess. It never gets dull, some puzzles are a bit tedious, but the game just keeps getting you engaged and interested. The sense of scale is crazy
im having a blast in this game on quest 3. its so good. No video on youtube justify how good this game is. you need to experience it in VR! also dont forget its free with purchase of Quest 3
Wow, thanks for the review. I wish that this game would have been optimized for the Quest 3 because it would've been better for a game of this scale. I will still be playing it as soon as it releases though, because it reminds me of Skyrim. Thanks again!
the no Quest 3 upgrade kinda seems a bit of a slap in the face i think for Q3 owners who bought a quest 3 for you know, the upgrade lol. I love the q3 but that does seems a bit off when Meta are using this game as a Quest 3 seller
Yeah, for now, it does give you a resolution/sharpness bump due to the lenses/displays. Just not graphical enhancements :( Fingers crossed they'll do it as they are considering it!
@@CasandChary don't get me wrong i will always choose framerate and performance over graphics any day, so even if they do more perfforance upgrades it will be good

Well done review, certainly more than enough to give us a feel of the game, I'll definitely be getting this! love your channel and your reviews, well done!!!! This looks amazingly immersive, love your enthusiasm in your content--- quite refreshing! Cheers, Michael
The developer giving you the first game for free when purchasing this game is just incredible, considering the unfortunately still very limited market for VR games. I already have the first game and it is awesome, but this looks great! Thanks for the great review. Also I for one am happy that it doesn't have a PCVR version, because that would have made me want to get that instead and start geeking out trying to get it to work perfectly using the headset, which is usually when I end up not bothering because it is just such a hassle. Here it is just plug-and-play.
Played for some hours and the most close description i could give is like playing Skyrim on a flatscreen. What is mean is the immersion, the scope mimics that of Skyrim first play but now in VR. This is going to be looked back at as the first AAA RPG/Action in VR. It's not perfect but deserves a 9.9 out of 10 just for the ground it is breaking.
I was slightly hesitant at the price tag, but I think after all these glowing review I would have been willing to pay the price. With that said, I preordered a Quest 3 and got it for free!
I would recommend just going for the sequel only as the previous game has more repetition. But it does depend on how much time you have and how much you love the lore.
Oops sorry forgot answer the QGO question, yes it can bump it but the developer hasn't added a profile yet so you need to play with the settings yourself until it comes out
Highly unlikely, the textures could be downgraded but the poly count would still be far to high to run on a standalone device. You gotta realize that game was designed around the power of PC's.
Great review as always, I learned a lot about the game without feeling like anything was spoiled. Now I’m more excited than ever to jump in tomorrow and film my play through 🤩
Think the Quest 3 specs would give some headroom to improve graphics via Quest Games Optimizer supersampling, or is the stuttering frequent enough where this would probably be a bad idea?
I'm supposed to get it free as part of the deal when you talked me into buying the Quest 3... LOL. We'll see though. If they push it to me tomorrow, I will certainly jump on there to try it out.
This game was optimized for Quest 2 But, looks better than some of these PCVR games. If they were to take advantage of the power that the PC has to offer this game would look so much better. But, it is still visually stunning, they did a good job of hiding the ugly. Great Story! I felt like I was doing more watching rather than actually playing. But, then again… it is VR. And we all know VR means,… ‘’Very Relaxing!’’ 😉👌🙋🏻♂️🫶
Why? The game was not completed until recently, so making an optimized version for Q3 would take so much time for a game of this scope and size, and they were spending all their resources on completing the game before launch. Devs didn't magically have a Q3 to test with until shortly before release at the earliest.
It's been a while but from what I recall AW2 is better than AW1 combat-wise. There's less repetition and way more to do with combos in the sequel. Altho, the "blandness" I talk about in this video is more of the same.
Hows the combat feel though. The first one had terrible combat compared to other games that have physics based combat. If it's the same I think I'll pass. It's basically just mindless flailing your arms.
so sad they didn't do a pcvr version. The game seems interesting. I won't take is on Q2, but if a buy a Q3 in a few months, I'll take it (and Assassins creed as well)
I mean, It will still look better on the Q3, especially with the quest optimizer So I know why you're disappointed but beware that the Q2 sold in 20M+ units so it was unavoidable
With how incredibly huge this game is and how much time it would have taken to optimize it for Q2, and the fact that devs didn't get a Q3 until at least close to launch, I'm seriously confused on how people can even expect this. These devs were spending all their time polishing and getting this ready for launch, so while Q3 has been out for around 2 months now, they wouldn't have had time to realistically develop a Q3 optimized version on the side in like a few months. It would require reworking so many textures to be higher fidelity, adding better lighting and shading effects, checking frames at various parts of a huge game, and so on. If this game really is 60-120 hours long, you're going to need a little more time and allocate a team to work on that after the initial game is complete.
@shuttzi9878 I just grabbed the q3 this week and downloaded the optimizer last night I am still excited to play when I get home from work don't get me wrong and I see our point
Hi, anyone can run this game by installing it into PC (and play via Oculus link)? The Oculus 3 headset resolution is not as good as my PC video card, and it makes the game look pretty bad than Asgard's Wrath part one! The Oculus app in the PC library is not included this game, OMG.
For what ive seen on reviews i will have to give the beter game price to assasins creed nexus. I think that will get pushed in a forget corner with all these as2 publicity.
Not great when on medium difficulty as the conbat can get chaotic. Have to say I have played seated on a rotating chair a lot tho when I get tired. Can make it work

I'm honestly disappointed with the fact that there's no pcvr release on this. I get that they want people to buy it on the Quest platform but putting the sequel to an originally pcvr game on a stand alone feels more like a downgrade.
Yeah it’s unfortunate for those that don’t have a q3 but an exclusive big title is obviously a normal thing to help sell the hardware. PlayStation are very good at this
Don’t see why Meta should give a shit about PCVR anymore. The amount of vitriol they received when they did was unbelievable. People went out their way to hate on and criticise the shit out of anything they did.
PcVR is a dead platform. No one bought games because PC games only buy when the game is reduced massively in a sale, which is only survivable by Devs due to gigantic install base of steam. So these posts moaning that Devs should give their game away are a little pathetic. Why should they not make money for their hard work?
You’re gonna have to get over it bro, the mass market has made it abundantly clear that standalone will be the driving force behind VR. Be happy that PCVR will coexist, but you have to let the idea of it being the driving force go…the good news is Standalone games are getting really good, reeeeaally fast! This game won’t feel like a downgrade when you play it, trust.
So far, this game has felt like a massive disappointment for me. It seems like a high quality game, but not one that was built with VR in mind. The limited movement, moving cutscenes (like the temple diving), and non-existent interactions with random small objects all makes the game very weak for VR. The hype for this game is way overblown.
