Thats the correct word. Their music and in particular this song feels otherworldly. Just a top notch alt rock song. This is how a rock concert should be and sound. Otherworldly. I used to think they are just evergy and screams when they play but now I realize Foals is focused energy. They turn rock into a weapon. And thats why they sound like this.

I know exactly what you're talking about. The last time I saw Foals was probably the most mental live performance I've ever been to. When you're in the middle of the crowd, it's an almost out-of-body experience. These lads are brilliant.

Cleary never listened to mike portnoy, joey jordison, jimmy 'the rev' Sullivan, Tomas haake or mike mangini. Those are just a few drummer of actual pure class and talent be it speed ability or technical ability or just the feel for the drums. The drummer in this band is an average drummer nothing very special
God, I thought they were one of those bands that sound completely different live than to the CD and that they would suck live (they use too much effects on their instruments), but I guess they're waaay cooler live, apologize.

Dont worry it didn't just happen at Leeds. the Saturday at Reading was just infested with chavs. people where going down in the pits at chase and status and no one was picking them up and the set had to be stopped for 5 minutes to tell the crowd to help each other and pick people up if they go down. simple fact dance crowds and rock crowds are different. Rock concert 99% of people will pick you up if you go down

These guys literally and ingeniously crafted eccentric rock/dance rock
It was painful to watch all the slim shadys at the front just stand there bored when Yannis came out to the crowd. It was an incredible set.

I was at leeds at the front for Foals. All the Eminem bitches hogging the front waiting for him had to be pulled out over the barriers cos they couldn't hack the craziness in the crowd, I nearly died, It was awesome.

They were great, but the crowd was way too mellow. Foals crowds are so much crazier at indoor venues.
foals were amazing but so many people just take it too far, i broke my wrist in the crowd when everyone fell over and some one tried to pull me up, i get people are excited to see a great band but really half of them didn't even want to see them they just wanted an excuse to go crazy

Yiannis is a dead ringer for a friend of mine, visually and vocally.
I was at the side of the fence near the security people, there was this blonde guy behind me and he started to make sure I didn't fall during Foals, Chase and Status and Eminem. It was madness up there, but totally worth going to. I now have new favourite bands and I was completely drenched with water :3

As incredible as they were, these guys deserved a late night set. Maybe headlining NME Stage, with that many strobes, a crowd as good as R&L and songs like Providence, Two Steps Twice & Inhaler, would be mental.
I love the Jack's enthusiasm when playing the drum lick in the beginning of the song.

+Feno Mozo It's just different timing. The song is in 4/4, but he did the fill in ¾, so it still was in time it was just half time effectively, it wasn't a mistake basically.
+Hal - L It's a really nice fill, in this performance he just hits the first tom noticeably early, so it sounds kinda awkward. Amazing drummer, regardless
Year late, but Foals are a bit math rock, so irregular time sognature fills are something they dabble in from time to time

I agree. I like to sit with my ankles level with the high hat. Gives me a nice tingling feeling in my spinal cord after about 3 hours.

A song truly ahead of its time, I hear them copying this now, like the Amazons, or I should say influenced by it. Either way this song was definitely underrated!

What I'm saying is stuff like that happens all the time, big crowd surges can be scary but if you don't like that kind of thing you probably shouldn't be so deep into the crowd that you can't retreat back. Nobody has "ruined it" for you, in that situation you've ruined it for yourself. Also, I was there, unbelievably good set and one of the best live performances this year.

People go nuts at concerts, man (or woman), best to just go with it. I've been sure I was going to suffocate a few times but you always get out okay! Hope it hasn't put you off, anyway. There's not many things better than great live music.
My display picture isn't me its a musician/celeb lol. Fair input but I wasn't expecting it as it was my first experience at Reading, I felt it was unnecessary but whatever I enjoyed the majority of it.
