Jennie. I feel like you are my mom teaching me basic time management skills because I never actually got that lesson from my mom or dad.....and I’m 40 just now figuring it out. Thank you for being so sweet, kind and breaking it down in such a simple manner. If you ever repost this video or relaunch it somewhere else, or edit your description in Your video, please hashtag it and or add to the title something about ‘Time Management’ because the exercise you asked us to do makes soooo much sense about why I’ve always been late as well as an over sleeper. It tied hand in hand for me. Really big Ah Ha’s for me Jennie. I appreciate you.
Sorry, but didn't help. What if you sleep at relatively the same time but your waking up time is still highly variable (with ADHD)? I wake up at 7 just fine sometimes, or I wake up at 7 and fall asleep for another hour, and then another and and wake up more tired, not to mention a chunk of my day is gone and now I have to catch up.
What I did was time with a timer from the point I got up to the time I sit in my chair ready to work. I added an hour to that. When I wake up, I have to force myself out of bed, which the hard part for most people, letting the alarm go off, turning it off and going back to sleep. I looked for videos by qualified doctors about boosting energy with breathing exercises in order to stay awake. Thank you for all your advice. I thought this one was more complicated than it needed to be and did not address the issue of how to get out of bed when you're supposed to, to start that timer and get into the morning the day with less stress, Thanks again. p.s. The average adult needs seven to eight hours of sleep a night. Those who don't will suffer for it when they get older.
I think you just made me find out I have adult ADHD. I think I should probably get checked out for it because there are things I do that are weird like saying random stuff in my head that I’m thinking about over my anxiety. Sometimes I can get really in my thoughts and zone out at points or change the conversation out of no where because my mind thinks it’s good to just say it randomly 😂 ngl this made me realize a lot about myself and thank you for being so clear and understanding. This is perfect for me.
I don't know if I have ADHD or not but I suffer from not waking up early, not going to bed early or you can say till midnight or after 1 or 2 am, even if I slept for 6 hours or 7 hours or 8 or 10 or 12, I didn't feel Im fresh or I feel like my sleep is incomplete, i started to have headache or eye pain or sometimes both because of it, when college was opened, I used to sleep in class and got trouble for that. I cannot focus on things I want to focus. Then I start to procrastinate that I'll do it tomorrow. Because of this sleeping pattern I feel very sluggish and always tired. I'm 21 and I want to change this. Please help me
I struggle with the exact same thing, I’m 20 and I feel sluggish when I wake up most of the time too, and I mostly over sleep like 10-12 hours sleep. When I wake up I instantly feel regret which fucks up how I feel all day cus I feel as if I gotta fit everything I wanna do in a small amount of hours as I now have less waking hours... feels like going round in circles
Hi Jenny thank you, I went to sleep at 1am last night then woke up at 12 in the afternoon and then I was out and about for three hours and then I got home laid down and relaxed and found myself falling asleep until 7 pm!
I keep oversleeping 😔 I swear I don’t hear my alarms. I have alarms at 5:55 and 6:00 but I mostly wake up at 8 and get in trouble for not being at school.
Girls this is really serious problem ...I also sleep 12 hours nowadays. And I feel we are losing our life like this ....I'm 21 and I want change in me.
I don't have ADHD, but I definitely don't think it's a level playing field. People say they wake up 'refreshed' whereas I wake up cold & feeling like I've been in a coma for 6 months. I only sleep 7-8 hours a night but I find it difficult to switch off.
Science is finding it's also about the times when you fall asleep and wake up. And more importantly whether you sleep in. There is a lot of new info about this.
This is awesome thank you! I do have adult adhd I’m 23 and never really understood this went hand and hand with my adhd! I’m going to try this! If not I’m in Greensboro so not far! Thank DR
But I am afraid of driving long distances. I would be half asleep! I would need a Starbucks and a uber drive! I want to learn to drive & commute without panicking! Plus I would be soo worried about my new job that I would be sick to my stomach & sleepless.
I can't sleep and if i sleep i sleep like being dead for hours day time. So for sleep aid i use benzos but how to wake up. I hv depression and anxiety history but it's something like attention problem
If family leave at peace i can sleep upto 16 hours and still fatigued and i still trying hard to wake in these sixteen hour to wake up but fails. Even if i want to awake i sit and give my back to bed but i sleep in sitting position as well. If i sleep on 9 p.m it does mean that i will on 9 am without struggling hard.
Hii am from india , can u plz suggest me ? my mom is 63 having cardiac an diabetes prob, she just got surgery of cellulitis legs two week back she was in pain before surgery and after surgery too for long .. but from 4 days pain had been realise and now after that she is only sleeping .. all the reports r normal like oxigen level, creating ,
My goal for the last few weeks has been to be in my bed at 2 am and up by 11:30 am (I work 2nd shift). But even that is hard. I'm in bed at 2 am every night but I usually dont actually get out of bed till about 1 30 pm lately because I have insomnia and it takes me 1-3 hrs a night to fall asleep. I am losing so much time every day and it sucks... And on the few days where I do manage to yank my ass out of bed at 11:30am, if I didnt get at least 8 hrs, preferably 9, my focus is shit and my lower back aches all day. Maybe someday I'll get this shit down... Is there anyone out there in the comments with similar problems?
Reason why doing all those degrees make you a complex person, couldn’t understand what she was trying to say could have more prepped and simple. Total turn off. Sorry but not sorry.

Fax😂😂

Thanks God this is the same title that I searched for until I came across this video, which words cannot describe, and thanks to its publisher.
😂😂😂😂
its hilarious how routinely we execute our bad habits but when it comes down to sticking to a sleep schedule everything goes to shit.
Ik hahahahahhahah
All you spoke of is how to set an alarm clock according to our schedule! I was looking for tips on what should i do to avoid over sleeping!?

I actually woke up at 5 pm once, no joke.
I have four alarms on four different devices. I set them three minutes apart. The last one is a simple, but annoying, twin bell alarm.
Very validating, thank you Doctor
I tried everything but still always sleeping all day long and I want more
I sleep 5pm to 9am next day on a school night
Thanks Dr.
Great tutorial how to manage. 👍🏻
I don't have a purpose to wake up in the morning. that is why I can't. What shold i do?
But I am afraid of driving long distances. I would be half asleep! I would need a Starbucks and a uber drive! I want to learn to drive & commute without panicking! Plus I would be soo worried about my new job that I would be sick to my stomach & sleepless.
