I’ve used a ton of overdrives but The Limelight has become my main drive and The Dagger my heavier dirt/ fuzzish stage. EAE just has it all figured out with Gain pedals!

Limelight, halberd, and longword are all the best drives I’ve tried in their respective categories. Love the dagger on bass. Model feT and citadel are some of the best amps in a box I’ve tried. EAE doesn’t miss

The boost on the limelight is worth the price of admission alone. It's honestly one of my favorite overdrives, and i say that as someone who has owned A LOT of pedals.

had the limelight v2, sold it and got myself a Carbon X, much happier, never quite connected with abrasive sound of the limelight through my twin reverb. through your chain it does sound great tho!

Protien for sure it's not for high gain and stacking a drive with a boost will always sound different

Protein wins for me. Limelight sounded a little too mid-focused but also somehow thinner. My 2cents!

Limelight or halberd for post rock/metal sort of stuff?
Haven't played the Halberd, but Alec plays in a post-rock band and uses the Limelight.
Either would work I think. I have the Halberd, its super versatile, gets a bit of a blown out tweed sound if you switch on the lows and gain it up. It can also push out a lot of treble if you set it that way. Has a ton of volume.
