I catch my personal best black sea bass as well a couple short fluke with the Montauk lighthouse in sight. I show you how to clean a black sea bass and Puddin cooks it in the kitchen, one of the best tasting fish ever! We made a huge mistake reading the regs and could have kept MORE fish. :)

Grew up fishing and clamming on GSB, Fire Island inlet, Jones, and ocean wrecks. Great fishing back then 👍 Fished ultralight for snappers, snapper-blues.
Nice job of adapting and overcoming on the fish cleaning. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Black sea bass, what an epic catch right there.
Of course I never seen what a black sea bass look like until now.
In my area, like all we have is a small little stream going through our city and the only thing in that stream is trout to catch pretty much that's it.
I will say by watching other people catching fish is great, this way we get to see what type of fish are out there indifferent Waters that we don't see or that we can't fish for that's in our area water.

I fish ponce inlet and the gulps do work here. Flounder, sea bass, lane snapper and blues are typically what I catch on the artificial reefs.
Recreational fishing in Montauk..... the most expensive way to catch a free dinner.....hehehe!

Never tried them like that on the half. Definitely will try scaled. They get big up here. Last season I had a 24.5 " @ 6.5 pounds in the sound. Didn't know you were an LI guy Brian. 🤙🎣

If you want catch 5lb. Black bass come to VA. Beach. VA. Just check the season when you can keep them.

It's good to live here in montauk. I feel sorry for all the people who drive out here and sit in 3 hours of hamptons traffic just to go 15 miles to the highway. Truth --- Florida keys dry tortugas and pully ridge-- that's amazing fishing.

Has a lot to do with the water clarity I think but your right the gulp just doesn’t work in wpb like it does in mtk
You said you can"t use gulp at home because your fish are too smart. Than go home and leave us alone. Gulp works everywhere.
Thanx to overfishing, black sea bass are an endangered species here in Cali.
You did not make a big mistake you just left more fish for us.Most people keep fish that are too small.
