Fuck, this song brings back so many memories. My little brother and I went to see them 3 times. The first time we went was my first time crowd surfing. He passed away a week ago and I've just been listening to all our music we loved together
Does anyone else listen to him and realize, "he should probably legitimately see a therapist and/or take medication"? Idk when I was younger I used to be all like "ah yeah man that was so brutal", but now more when I listen to his music I can hear the desperation and authenticity in his voice, like he's someone who's actually feeling it. Kind of like Landon Tewers from The Plot in You.
Speaking as someone who was a musician in this scene back then- mental illness was encouraged and celebrated. We were all fucked up and indulging in it. I guess it was therapeutic to get that energy out through music - for a time. Eventually being that angry and bitter made me worse. I’ve since found much healthier ways to cope with life
This band literally started an entire new style of metalcore with just the WAH effects/automation and chaotic dissonant riffs. Dealer, Alpha Wolf, Diesect, Diamond Construct and others.
Kinda feel like they even influenced Knocked Loose tbh. But truthfully, all these bands are influenced from The Acacia Strain, Emmure or the The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza lol.
Regardless of what kind of "core" you want to call it, these guys make good music and deserve to be where they are today and I hope they keep going for a long ass time.

People commenting have no idea what Sworn In used to be like. Compared to their old stuff, The Death Card is just okay. Old fans are angry that Sworn In turned into this. And I am one of them. Although, "Snake Eyes" must have been written before they went all emo, because this song is choice.
Their EP was pretty typical deathcore, if you ask me. This is something fresh, with a certain ambience/atmosphere that I don't feel off other bands. Sorry you don't like it, doesn't make it shit.

Thats why I listen to it, it helps me cope. Therapy didn't do shit for me, so music is where I find peace.

Their live show is so good, they wear matching jackets and everything and they play their hearts out. I recommend them for sure
