this was so incredibly entertaining i'M SO HAPPY I GOT TO BE A PART OF IT 😈😈😈 the Saints book actually looks gorgeous I might have to get it for myself just to add it to my Grisha collection 😩💗
yayyy so glad you took part as well your prompt was MAJOR!!! and yesss the illustrations are so beautiful DO IT!
Ahhhh this was so fun to watch!! Thanks so much for asking me to be a part of this! 🥰 I had so much fun watching you react to my video and figuring out what to read, and I’m so glad you ended up enjoying The Drift a lot more than I did! 💗
yayy thank you so so much again for taking part!!
Meg! No! 3’s aren’t bad at all! The definition of each type is always hyperbolic and doesn’t cast anyone in a good light. Leslie Knope (Parks & Rec), Tiana (Princess & the Frog), Alexander Hamilton (Hamilton), and Rachel (Friends) are all enneagram 3’s!
Loved this video. Gonna go back and watch it again 😂❤
ooooh ok i'm in good company then haha!! love yaaaa
After Meg talking about competing with herself, I suspect she also has a strong 4 wing. That makes it harder to ID with descriptions of the straight types... #enneagramnerd
Oh my gosh hahaha Katie’s prompt I’m dead 💀
😂😂😂😂😂
I love that everyone got so creative with their suggestions and created prompts and didn’t just give you a book!
i know!! everyone was so creative and it made it such a fun experience for me!
You proceeding to spoil the entire book with your suspicions’ HAD ME IN TEARS 😭
I feel like you need personalized recommendations based on your Enneagram (Katie), zodiac (Kayla), BTS bias (Gabby), etc. as your follow up prompts
I like hearing your perspective on the greek retellings; I think that's why Song of Achilles is a contested book.
For me, I absolutely loved it BECAUSE I knew the story beforehand and since I knew their fates I felt like the suspense of those moments at the peak of the book was more impactful. I felt like Song of Achilles humanized these two characters in a way that you don't perceive in the actual myth.
22:23 the multicolored toe beans growing in the garden!! It does not get any cuter 😻
“I am looking bedraggled” literally looks stunning 10/10 😂
totally agree with your point on writing in Greek myth retellings! i never feel suspense/surprise when i read them
Me too!
50 minute Meg video, we are blessed 🫶🏻
🥺💕
As a fellow type 3 - it's not that bad! We want to be successful but what that actually looks like practically can be really dependent on your culture/upbringing etc so often it doesn't look exactly like the description. At our healthiest we pursue success in a way that bring those around us up with us. And while we can tend to shape shift a bit (putting on a persona in different contexts) that also means we can be flexible and get along with lots of different groups of people
Omg gabby is wild. I loved that 😂
The way I stopped what I was doing to watch this 🏃♀️
Not Bella laughing at your misery 😂
hahah cruellll
Bella’s prompt 💀😂
I love these videos so much!
I love this video concept!
Just sat down with my dinner and this popped up! Perfect timing ❤
Loved this!!!!
This videos are so fun so excited to see how it goes! ✨ (and also omg Bella is here 💙
I love how creative and unique the prompts were! Loved this video!
Omg the sound you made at the end of the song of Achilles haha I need to read this book
This was so much fun to watch x
I finished reading The Drift today and I gave it 5 stars. LOVED it and was so happy to see you picking it up on today's vlog. 😁
I also thought the twist was obvious but no less interesting to see how each character played into that twist.
Dude, I sobbed my little heart out so hard when I read The Song of Achilles
omg im so happy you read SoA it’s one of my favs!!!
I love Greek myth retellings because I love the semi-detached style
This was fun! Those were great prompts.
hearing isabella's prompt made me laugh so hard with how quick and blunt she was 😭
ahh this was so fun 💖
When you nearly knocked stuff over it made me laugh 😅
Happy belated birthday to your mum! ❤
thank you!!
This is a great series to watch on your channel :)
Glad you enjoy it!
I have the same hang ups with greek mythology as you do. I can't help but feel a little bored, even if the prose is beautiful, and don't like the roughness that you describe either. I also think you might be enneagram 7 because you seem like such a happy person. But maybe that's just the joy you share with all of us.
Amazing video! Would love to see you read her majesty’s royal coven by Juno Dawson!
will hopefully read it soon!! it's on my TBR and was in the 23 books i wanted to read in 2023 tbr so i should get to it asap hahaha
Those cats are my favourite part of the video 🖤
I dnf'd A Song of Achilles 70+ pages in. I was bored out of my mind.
Fun!!
Will you be bringing back Booktuber Battle? I really enjoyed it!
hopefully soon!! i love doing them but they are just SO much work (way more than any other video) and the last few haven't done as well views wise so I just wasn't sure if the demand was there for more!
I finished TSoA at work and had 5 minutes before my shift started to clean up the tears 😢 I’ve never felt heartbreak like it ❤
I feel like you would really enjoy medusa by Jessie burton as it is written beautifully and it is a Greek reimagining as you put it (also less than 200 pages so a nice quick read)!
yes out of all greek myths i'm probably most intrigued by Medusa so I might pick that up!
that book got me in the heart and soul more than I expected!
Gabby delivered lol
I found song of Achilles so underwhelming 😬
Same. 2 stars.
I didn't give song of achilles 5 stars, I thought it was well written but also it wasn't something I felt emotionally impacted by tbh
Your vlogs like this are all bomb.
I had a friend *super* into the enneagrams a few years ago and I took test after test and read up on it and decided the enneagram and me just don’t agree. I can’t put myself in a number box when humans are far more complex than the system. So you may not be a 3. You just may not fit into a 9 number box. 💜
Ok is Katie like this on her channel? Cuz I think I’ve found her another subscriber then 😂
yes!! deffo subscribe to her!!
I've never read Silence of the Girls or Song of Achilles but I've watched Troy so I know what's going to happen😢
I also read Silence of the Girls first and now have no interest in SOA because of it, it was an okay book for me but because I now know what happens I have no interest in SOA which I’m low-key mad at😅
As someone who is also type 3, I don't feel like its about "cut throat ambition, success driven" for everyone. I feel like its more nuanced than that. You saying that you thrive with goal setting and set goals against yourself feels still feels very type 3 to me...
ooooh ok interesting!!
Katie should have suggested you watch her video recommending books based on enneagram type!
I wonder if you would identify with one of the type 3 subtypes more - either 3w2 or 3w4!
ooh maybe!! i remember really identifying with my MBTI personality type when I looked it up yearrssss ago so I think i just need something a bit more specific!
The thing I don't like about greek mythology books (maybe madeline Miller in particular) that the writing tends to keep me at arms length, like were some amazing gods who are above you so we shall have some beautiful prose and be poetic, but I've heard the myths before, Im not here for the story, I don't want to hear it again I want to read the authors interpretation of the characters
yes!! i felt like that too
Bella saying "I glad I'm not you" 💀💀
Here to gently suggest looking at enneagram 6 if you ever decide you care beyond this video 😅
The crying in Song of Achilles is real though!!! That writing!! 😭 Circe is one of my favourite books of all time (Greek myth style writing is absolutely my thing) and Song of Achilles only just squeezed a 4.5 for me (would have been 4 if it wasn't for the writing at the end) so don't feel bad 😆 (p.s. I hated Silence of the Girls with a passion so that's something odd 😅)
oh p.s. also I guessed you'd be a 3 before the test...they're the hosts of the enneagram! and you're out here always serving us all these memes 🤣
Now we gotta know Katie is Meg a type 3??
I wish I would’ve had that reaction reading Song Of Achilles. I thought it was just ok. I gave it 3 stars. Circe was a 4.5 star. I really enjoyed that one.
I was trying to read it with a friend, we were sure we'd love it. We both ended up dnfing cause we didn't even like it enough to finish it. The relationship didn't feel logical, and I hated how Patroclus was characterized as weak and dependent. Plus, all of the feet and talk about olives (was it skin or oil? I can't remember but I do recall it being weird).
Enneagram has told me I'm 4,5,6,and 8 every time I take it. *shrug* Not a self-help book reader so most of the recommendations don't suit me.
I made the mistake of finishing Song of Achilles while out shopping.
The million dollar question is, could you have gotten all five words with just the short Saints book?? 😈
hahaha i don't think so but i don't want to know🙈🙈
