Hello Big Al you always seem to buy your cars pre-washed😊. I also noticed your sporting that Specialty Motor Cars 👍 with Papa 🐻 on it good choice. I enjoy watching your videos. Papa 🐻
The new Allante! Love it. Buy a camera to stick down the plug holes and see whats up. Suprised engine didn't move with the force placed on the breaker bar.
You did awesome on these flood cars , one that’s not running o well , part it out you will make out not a loss just a redirection . any parts for your other Allante just grab them this may not be a bad thing . 👍
Fantastic to see new content, but I think we all dropped a collected eff bomb that you didn't have your usual good luck. Just noticed an Alante' for sale in my hometown, so I need to snoop. Small car lot, but his stuff is $$$$$$.
These quick battery disconnectors are absolute CRAP! I had a classic S class Mercedes with this nonsense. The car went into limpmode twice. Then it ran perfectly for an entire month. One late afternoon I went hiking with my family in a forrest mountain and parked the car on a dead end road in the middle of nowhere. It was nearly nighttime when we reached tha car and wanted to drive home. The car would not start at all. We checked the relais, the fuses, the ignition. I thought that battery had died. The battery connections looked perfect. It was a miracle that someone of an emergency service knew the place. When he arrived we checked everything again. When he put the booster we could not start it. It turned out, that this stupid adapter was broken. When we removed it and connected the battery directly, it fired right up. Whenever I get a car with this shit, I pull it out and throw it away immediately.
I got a 6.5 Detroit Diesel from a junk yard a few months ago. I got it cheap because it was seized from rust. I tried ATF, PB Blaster and Marvel Mystery Oil, none of them made a difference. I finally managed to break it free with vinegar from Wal-Mart. I removed the injectors, and one of the injectors I drilled it and tapped it with 1/4 NPT to adapt an air hose. I filled each cylinder with the toughest vinegar from Wally World, like 2 bucks for half a gallon, and then pressurized each cylinder with 100 PSI of shop air until the vinegar would just shoot out the oil pan. When I got to the last cylinder, the piston violently shot to Bottom Dead Center and rotated the crank so. Keep in mind, my junk engine is a push rod engine, so it was easy to seal the valve. I don't know if that Caddy is a push rod engine, or a cam-in-head engine.
I remember all the little changes they made to this version, the seat controls became the standard GM style ones and the mirror controls moved to the door. I think these got traction control too and the CD cassette combo was one of the first on any car. If it can't live again it will at least help keep other Allantes on the road. I saw a broken down white 89-90 "baby Riviera" on the 836 a few weeks ago and I wondered if it was you. I would have stopped to help but I didn't look like anyone was around.
Fill the crank case up with Diesel let it sit for anthere week try again use air ratchet one or 2 times and put the breaker bar back on it and see if that works the vibrations from the a air ratchet might help
Hi Al, you know I always comment if I catch paranormal activity in your videos, this time I see a spirit ITC, a visual spirit manifestation, and it seems quite positive, like the spirit of the Caddy is glad to be purchased by you, because the spirit knows you respect the vehicle and is gonna take very good care of it. Try freezing the video at 2:57 and 2:58 - the papers on the passenger seat show a 'face' - perhaps the face of a previous owner (we know Cadillacs are often driven by senior citizens, and are sold as the owners become too old to drive, or simply when they pass away). This ITC visual spirit manifestation appears friendly - got a slight smile on its face : ) Also EVP spirit audio coming from the radio, when listening at 0.25x video speed, saying: 9:55 'It's here', 9:57 'The spirit energy'. I also hear EVP as you try out the horn: 10:49 'I feel there is good energy in here'. Thank you The Völve, Asatru shaman of Denmark and the Lands of the North
@@bigalsbikeandauto Yes, not like when those negative Nature Spirits from the Everglades burned your car down. This one seems like a human spirit, a ghost, but not an angry one. Hey Big AL 🖐. It's a bummer Sorry dude. We'll look at the bright side. You can use the parts for your others . Beautiful ride at one time 😔🎬🚘✨️👍. Wish you the best bro .Salute 😎
Try tapping the pistons with an extension and hammer you have nothing to lose I've freed up a lot of engines that way with minimum damage to the cylinders😊
No but I pulled the injector for access, blew out the cylinder (it was dry no water in it) and filled it with ATF/PB blaster along with all the others.
I'll bet the "cross threaded" spark plug is actually stuck from corrosion and that's the only cylinder with water in it. Might be worth doing a boroscope to get an idea on its condition before completely chalking it up as a loss
I shot into that cylinder through the intake valve and injector port with compressed air there was no water in it. Also filled it with ATF like the others through the injector port.
@@bigalsbikeandauto I knew you wouldn't miss something like that, but it's always fun to try to sleuth it out and give some ideas. I can't wait for the next one, Big Al!
Helo. I have a beautiful Allante here in Guadalajara, Mexico and the machine just crashed. Can you help me to get a contact where can I purchase a new 4.5L engine for a 1989 Cadillac Allante? Mi name is Raúl and I would greatly appreciate your help. Tks. Sept 8, 2023
Nothing will be happening with this one for a while, but I am uploading some follow up videos on the others very soon. They are all filmed, just need to find time to edit them.
Love an Allante video!!
Damn you’re here early!
You should get one for your channel Randy. 🤣😉
@@kevinkeeney6693 ,

Top 3 favorite UA-cam channel. Keep ‘em coming!

Watched today Tod's video and was thinking about Big Al's disappearance act.😂😂
I watched Tod’s new Caddy video today too 😎 I’m too busy keeping up with the rebuild to edit!

Wow that was quite the idea lol
4.9 is a push rod engine, only last production year Allante had DOHC Northstar.
That's a shame Al but at least the parts value is there. They look good in black.
Absolutely love your videos. Gm all the way!
LOve it! Big Al, looking for flooded XLR ? keep up all good fight!
Always looking for an XLR deal!
thanks a lot Al, that was a great video. enjoyed it 👍
