  • I am given insider knowledge by some locals here in Saigon and decide to go on a culinary adventure to eat like a local for a day.
First, we try the famous banh mi from Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa, a place that's been in business for 30 years and has a reputation as the best Banh Mi in Vietnam.
Next, we head to Quán Cơm Tấm Hồng Calmette to sample their broken rice. Initially consumed by poorer populations, this dish is now a staple of Saigon street food.
Lastly, we have the Vietnamese staple sticky rice from Peofood, which I discover is a version originally from Hanoi in the north.

Stepped it up a notch with this one Mr Brown. look's a bit more slick with the edits and you've told the story without any wasted frames.

I agree with blah blah Silas. Well done. The captions did a nice job of succinctly describing the traditions of the food, you edited the extraneous stuff out. It was a neat and crisp presentation and left me panting for the next video

Cơm tấm without fish sauce man, you did it so wrong but luckily you picked the best place for cơm tấm with high quality and reasonable prices in SG

Yes, I should call it attempting to eat like a local 😅
I was told about that place by two locals who eat there and recommended it.

11:50 The unique of South's dishes often added sugar cause people in here like sweet as: Com Tam dish which has pork marinated with sugar and also with the fish sauce , sweet sticky rice with coconut, .... The unique of Central' s dishes is spicy & salty. The North's dishes is balanced, no too sweet, no to salty

I recommend you can try enjoying "Savoury Sticky Rice" or " Banh my" with No Sugar Black Coffee in the morning for breakfast. The sweet flavor of " Savoury Sticky Rice " & " Banh My" combine with the bitter flavor of No Sugar Black Coffee would make these dishes more delicious

Believe it or not broken rice and regular rice tastes different.
