The plot essentially boils down to sung hoo park trying to solo KA the whole thing until he eventually hits his limit 😭.
He is also at fault for this, why add mech's when everyone knows how hard it is to animate mech suits not to mention a fight between mech's.
Ironically, this show is also about the MC soloing the whole thing

Never seen a show fall from grace like this. It was such an animation master piece and the plot was so engaging. Then as soon as they got mech suits everything fell off a cliff.
it was so strange how badly it fell , almost as i the first few episodes were written and produced by a totally different team

Ninja Kamui was at its best for me when it was about hand to hand combat. Those mecha suits are boring.
It wasnt really the suits for me it was the how the more important the fights got the more it was like not it felt lazely made
I like Ninja + Sci-Fi but when it went full on Mech suits I was like...What?
Ngl I love when animation "melts" because it shows how hard someone had to work to get dozens of frames to look consistent. It's interesting going frame by frame to see how the illusion takes effect.

I understand that a new studio wouldn't have a big budget to maintain a healthy production. But at least you have to take into account the limitations during pre-production.
Passion cant carry the business You need to make money for pay employee and tax. Im hope Park wont fall to the hell loop that most of Anime studio got in to.

I don't mind the quality of animation as long as the story is good, but in this case, the story fell short. Characters barely speaking husks. And the world-building wasn't used right.
if you expected a deep story and characters then you just haven't watched a lot of anime. it was never supposed to be that. it was pretty straight forward from episode 1. falls in line with something like solo leveling.
Don’t ever let Sung Hoo Park touch another show ever again.
I'm somewhat sad because it was one of the very few series that picked my interest in a long while, yet it faced such a downfall...
Whatever anyones says first 5 episodes were bangers and don't get me started on episode 1 it had the best fight animation I have seen ever, only one that comes close to that is fate ubw lancer vs archer
did you even bother to watch the movies? because saber vs rider from heaven's feel is still the pinnacle to a lot of people across anime in general.
Well yeah I watch all of heaven feel loved them all but fight choreography wasn't very best in them imo maybe its just nostalgia or something

He has good connections to KAs but other than that his style is very one dimensional, from his animation down to even his music choice
The moment I noticed that the first three episodes of ninja kamui had fights done by him alone I immediately knew where this show was headed and dropped it..the story wasn’t even that engaging
I can’t believe fans really thought this man would’ve done a better job for jjk season 2 than gosso 🤦🏾🤦🏾
They took off a bit in episode 12 and I expect much more on episode 13
Such a shame, started off so promising. Hopefully their future projects learn quite a bit from this rough showing.

Really feel so sad how hard this show dropped. I didn't want to believe or admit that there were issues and I was also fine with the mechs for a while but it got really boring since like ep8. Park's animation was splendid especially in the first few episodes, hope they form a bigger and better team so that everything doesn't just come down to 2-3 people doing most of the heavy action, looking forward to the final episode
By this moment That wife and son has died more times than the Wayne and Uncle Ben, maybe those flashback in the final episode would have bren morr meaningful if they haven't beaten the shit of out of flashbacks already.
What's the difference between rotoscopy and motion capture?
Well i suppose that rotoscopy is about drawing frame by frame over a footage(ex: some people doing intricate movements), and motion capture is just that, the capture of movements and them those translate into somethings else like characters movements in videogames, GCI models in movies, etc.

In rotoscopy, you directly trace over the live action footage, while in case of mo cap, the actors wear specialized mo cap suits which can be detected by a software, which converts the movement into CG (in case of GOH), that way you can modify the camerawork and stuff afterwards.

I Always thought mo cap also involved manually animating the cg models to match the movement, now I see why it's the more preferred method in game development. Thanks for the info. Loved this anime until episode 5. My interest dropped after that until the final episode. But still, I finished the anime. I just hate the suit part.
ninja kamui shouldve been 6 episodes with good action like afro samurai.
Do Kaiju No. 8, one of the best anime intro animation I've seen personally, the animation is good and the gore and comedy is balanced, nice anime.
Ninja Kamui started and ended with Park. My opinion but I hope park becomes freelance action animator him directing & animating in 1 or 2 episodes of 12 or 24 ep series would be good to watch. With his action getting more time, polish & help from other animators.

I'm going to be sincere, i lost interest in the show gradually and then stopping care about it when they introduced mecha suits, not only because the CGI looks ¿ok?, but because i feel it very disconnected of the original premise(Ninjas doing ninja stuff).
so, if wasn't only an animation problem but also a story thing problem.
the story was never gonna be deep. idk what you expected after ep 1 when you literally see how it plays out.
@@gskuani7769 i never expected a deep story, just the opposite, a simple revenge story but with ninjas, introduce things like evil global corporation, mech suits, gubernamental organizations, guys playing on multiple teams, etc, In a few words, things getting more complex or complicated was part of the problem.

i remember people glazin this series and say how it will be better than solo leveling (just cause it aired at the same time and they just hate trending anime). and now it has turned into a cgi slug fest with only good first few episodes animation. meanwhile solo leveling draws every big monsters and igris armor in 2d and only rarely uses cgi.
by that logic, you can say the same thing about solo leveling though. it's a very simple and straightforward story. same as ninja kamui.

They might of not had the man power or budget to pull off the Igris scene from solo leveling I think a lot of studios should should use it as an example for how to animate armor/mechs. Some people might appreciate the CGI look I will always say that it breaks immersion even if they have to use it.
I knew he was the one that animated garou vanishing line. It gave the same vibe with the 3d mech suits. I liked it and didn’t mind the 3d but the story was a little basic
Don't get me wrong, but I think. Sunghoo Park shows has a really bad composting. (JJK s1, God of highschool, this show). The shading and use of lights look downright bad

Honestly the first mech suit fight was dope. Then it all went downhill hill from here. It just kept getting worse and worse. Ended off with a mediocre bang.

But he's one of the greatest directors in the industry. The quality issues of Ninja Kamui aren't a result of his directing.

I hated this show from episode 1.
The character designs are absolutely terrible.
Not because they look ridiculous but because they are excessively unexpressive.
Everyone has this boring stoic face 😑 most of the time and yet, when they need to convey emotions it seems they never manage to communicate it properly.
This wouldn't bother me so much if not because this Park's obsession with close ups.
Everything's a close up in this show even when characters and not showing any emotion making the close up useless.
Also storyboarding besides action scenes are very dull and scenes last too long.
Editing is really weird here.
yeah i never really understood why PP glazed the first episode so much. outside of some decent hand to hand sakuga near the end, it was pretty shit from a directorial standpoint.

@@cwega2463 Ep 1 was probably the best debut we have had this year and everything was amazing to look at. It established the story and hooked most people to it from the start. It cant get any better than that in just the 1st ep. There was nothing to improve on in that ep and is still a top 3 ep of this year.

Naah man. In terms of animation, nothing beats the animation in that first episode. The amount of CLEAR VISIBLE hand to hand combat was insane. There were like 15 mins worth of hand to hand combat. None of the episodes you mentioned have that much good animation. And this episode didn't have those extremely fast moving shit where you can't tell what's even happening, but only feel that something cool is happening. Here you could see every move they were doing. Show me one show this year, which has that animation. None. Solo leveling best episode was episode 11 and even that didn't have the animation this show had in its first episode. But I do agree Ninja kamui fell hard and ded after that first episode
when i saw that cringe suits i ve realized that this title is piece of shit
