If you want to be a deer recovery drone pilot or are just looking for a thermal drone, get your DJI Mavic 3T or Matrice 30T at... thermalhunting.com/collections/thermal-drones Tell them Savage Tactical Recon sent you!
That was a good breakdown! I agree that each application has its own variables. I live in the northeast USA so weather can change quickly, although somewhat predictable. Thanks for your research! It did help!
Great video! Thanks so much. I understand you are perfectly happy with the Mavic 3T. But question: if you were starting all over from scratch... with the new pricing mentioned, and with you rating both as a 62 on your DA... would you still lean toward the Mavic 3T?
Good question, honestly, I’d probably have to revisit the DA first and see if the scores were all the same with additional experience under my belt. It’s still a much larger investment and way less portable/hideable in my transportation. And for me, most m30t users I know will use their m3t unless they absolutely need the m30t. So for me, I’d still likely start with the M3T.
I had only seen anyone use the CZI which is why I included it specifically. Personally, I’d prefer all light and no speaker like the JZ offers. Thanks!
Excellent Video... This video really helped ease my mind for my purchase, I had bought the 3T for pet/drone recovery and I am pleased with my purchase. I am like you, I won't be flying in the rain and I also will not be flying in extremely cold weather where I live.
How about m2ea compared to m3t for this purpose? I got the m2ea for the same reason you did, with the thought of maybe upgrading. It seems to be ok for this purpose. Only things I feel it’s lacking is the ability for the spotlight to point straight down and also the thermal settings not allowing to have a temp range.
I had a M2E Dual for a short time, but I don't have first-hand experience with the M2EA. But from my little research, the thermal resolution is the same resolution 640x512 radiometric sensor, but the zoom capability, Pilot 2 app interface, and other features make for a better usage experience on the M3T. When I was looking at the M3T, the M2EA were still higher priced at certain retailers so it was a no-brainer for me. That said, I suspect if you found a great deal, I'm sure the M2EA would get it done.

@@STRThermal THANKS!!!
The JZ T60S light/speaker combo with the sam specs is half the price.
