Shiny Castform is normally full odds. They’re boosted this event 1/125 maybe 1/64.
1/125 boosted like whenever they have added a shiny increase during a event (like when chinchou had a boost) they go from full odds to 1/125.
@@GamingMickeythe last time we had a boost with cap hat pika it was 1/64. I do think castform is 1/125 but I did just get a shiny sunny form in like 10 encounters so 🤷♂️

6:37 - It remains as what it spawned in as until it despawns. I only know this for sure because I hunt level 1 pokemon and hoping for the weather change is the only way to get them to drop their weather boost.

Zoë, I got a regular Shiny Castform in the wild a week and a half ago at the beginning of the Horizons Event... nice surprise considering my shiny luck is alright for wild spawns but it's pretty amazing in Raids.
Congrats on the 2 shiny Castform! The only shiny I need for this event is Snowy Castform since it’s so rare. I will only be getting those from research because I doubt I will see any snow/fog so it’s going to be pretty hard. 🤞🤞
I agree with what you said about the Paldean starters. That last event made it very difficult to make progress on the Masterwork Research so I’m glad we will have some variety with this one!

We've seen 3 of the 4 castforms (normal, sunny & snowy) spawning during windy weather (i.e. non-weather boost for all 4 castforms) in my city here in NZ during day one.
It'll be interesting to see if this occurs in Cloudy (the only other neutral weather regarding the castform variations)

I live in North Queensland so it was good to finally encounter a snowy Castform through daily research.
5:53 Big Rapids, MI is a college town (Ferris State University), and their mascot is a Bulldog. My son went to college there, so I have been to the town a few times.
Castform stays the same as it spawned as. I've watched then change and even seen two types on the map at once when another spawned near the pre-change one.
i caught three shinies (all sunny) out of 116 castform caught yesterday. and today, none from 27 caught. Yet to encounter a snowy one from field research from like 10 completed (live near the equator, its never gonna snow)

I think this was the first time Sunny, Water and Snowy castform are boosted. It was hard to get during go fest and every time it rained here in Melb we couldn't get the shiny.

Im going to struggle to get the snowy and sunny castform, its spring in the UK, rainy, dull and mild weather 😂😂 As to boosted odds, not here they arent.

Talk to your phone. It sounds weird, but it works. Niantic is listening. They put it in the TOS. I always tell the game what I'm looking for, and I get it most of the time. Manifest your destiny!

Castform isn't a permaboost shiny. But a bonus of this event is increased Castform shiny chance

Zoe please tell Niantic to open weather boosted spawns for cloudy weather, there is none in the wild. Found just 3 in almost 7km of walking.
The completionist in me just wants to collect all the different Castform shiny variants but me living in California it never snows 🙃

They mentioned a paid timed research in the blog post/graphics, but it's not shown up in the game shop here in NZ yet (it'll probably show up when the event starts in th later timezones)

Castform doesn't swap versions when the weather changes. That's how I have been able to find level 1 castforms

I still don’t get why can we transform casform into the corresponding weather form even with stardust cost.
Niantic hadn't figured out the whole form changing mechanics for the game back when castform was released - they didn't manage that until Hoopa, Furfrou (not forms per day, but trims are a cosmetic form change), and Shaymin

castform isnt permaboosted, but as the event blog says, “increased chance to encounter Shiny Castform”. also no, a castform will retain the form it spawned in regardless of if the weather changed, that’s how i have a rank 1 rainy castform. and to add further context to your shiny luck, alolan grimer is permaboosted

Castform shiny featured during Lotad research day as an additional spawn and its shiny rate was either 1/64 or 1/125 boosted. It was the 2nd research day (After disasterous Clampearl).
Actually the first one was feebas, not clampearl.

Castfroms don't change on weather updates, which can be a good thing if you are looking for a PVP IV rainy one :) Only way to get 0 attack that way :)
