- Winter holiday season in already here and just like any other city in Germany the Christmas fever starts spreading in November.
It doesn't matter if you even celebrate Christmas, it is unavoidable in Germany.
This video covers what I noticed what happens in Germany (specifically Trier) during the holiday season. Which in some stores even starts in September, so basically skipping Halloween (maybe it's just my region).
Germans are big on Christmas. Celebrating Christmas is an important family tradition for most people living in Germany. But surprisingly although Christian is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas is also celebrated by Germans who do not profess any faith - by 78% in all.

Hello Erika!!!
Thanks. I just noticed that there were lots of expressions and goodies around Xmas that I would not have been able to name in English. Understanding them was easyJet, though
I'm going to Dortmund saterday, so your video is a good way to get me in the christmas mood🎄
Christmas is my favorite holiday, and man I really want to visit Germany for the Christmas markets.
beautiful decorations ! well, I would not put the toilet in my tree ! and the food. Hm. Makes me hungry ! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for another video! You are one of my favorite UA-camrs. You are so charming! I wonder if you’ve ever watched the UA-cam channel free to use sounds? I think the two of you making a video would be adorable! Not A lot of crossover between your two channels, but you remind me of each other
I love your channel so much
Awesome video. Was in Trier for a few days, I've been teaching myself German for 3 years and I love ancient rome history, so this city was perfect for me. Haven't experienced European Christmas markets as a Canadian. It's cool to see someone else appreciate the city and take the time to document it. Cheers.
Dam really miss the Christmas market was there 3 yrs ago before covid
This is so good. Thank you!
I'm not a christian or whatever, but christmas is soo cozy. I love it, specially in Germany
Very cool video with accurate details taken to consideration
The Christmas market in Trier looks amazing!!! We’re going to the one in Oberhausen + Dortmund ❤
A very nice video. I believe the Chimney Cake origianated in Hungary... and heard folks in Prague say adamantly that Chimney Cakes have nothing to do with their history.
Really loved thiss and excited to be in germany for Christmas one dayy!!!
Erika Kurz my friend in Viereth....near Bamberg, Germany.
I liked everything about this video. It was so comforting and relaxing it eased my mind 🎀
great video as always
This video really gets you in the mood for christmas 🎄
Dampfnudeln... the best thing ever.... sadly they vanished from the christmas markets around where i live... :(
This channel is so cozy and mesmerizing please don't stop and thank you!
The christmas markets really get you into the mood for christmas!
hows your german skills doing by the way? :D
Thank u :))
Unfortunately my german skills haven't improved much. I kept learning but there were a lot of personal stuff happening behind the scenes and i wasnt sure if i will be staying in germany. Thus i kinda stopped, i felt really unmotivated and discouraged :( It doesnt mean i wont try again it's just a difficult journey
@@helloerika oh iam sure you will get there :)
@@helloerika tell us the truth. You dont wanna get Married soon. So You wanna leave the country. 😂😂😂
I just realized in Hungary we have 99% German culture when it comes to Christmas. Even our bejgli is of German origin. Maybe szaloncukor (sweets on the Christmas tree) is an original Hungarian invention/custom. Chimney cake is Transylvanian Hungarian in origin.
the earliest version of it called fondantcukor is from 14th century France. it came to Hungary in the 19th century, brought in by Germans. the name szaloncukor comes from the German Salonzuckerl haha. as far as I know, nowadays it is only a thing in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. (és amúgy egy Hungarikum, úgy hiszem)
szívesen a felesleges süti-történelem órát hehe
Please make a video on Romania 🇷🇴
You come to France on Christmas it will be unforgettable dream epically if your in Strasbourg because it the capital of Christmas :D
i ve been in strasbourg :D I have videos about it
when were you there? :)
👍
how do you film and edit this video? i mean it's woww
Best up and coming vlog youtuber . I really love your videos .
Just one suggestion, more jokes with history pun...you will get more niche subscribers
Good suggestion, But as i Said to Eli. Dont go to deep with things she doesnt understand. Not talking she doesnt know a lot of history. But if she doesnt know everything, Just talk a little and who likes the place search for it. Of course i agree with You.
i loved christmas in germany. the only thing that made me uncomfy was the black face elves
You thought about Elvis Presley. Ela não está falando de Rock. Seu fanático!!
Oh I can understand you some point but Germany society is not like the US.
@@liqiz1755 i agree and i know it was supposed to represent ash or smoke but i still felt weird lol
😍🎄✨
Wait do you speak Dutch by any chance? I've always heard Spekulatius being pronounced Spekulazius by Germans, and I remember it's pronounced the way you did in Dutch at least.
A flix é tão ridícula que botou o nome de Luthor, mas esqueceu que Luthor é um gênio.😂😂😂
very poggers
10 euro for pig in spaceship? Sold!
Muppet Show like pigs in the space 🤣
loved the video! in Romania we all say/know that the undercooked cake you had ( Kürtőskalács ) is hungarian ( just googled it and it said it was made by the hungarians living in Romania) - your cake was the thickest i have ever seen that's why they undercooked it 😢 but such an amazing thing to eat ❤
What a beautiful girl
