Good kick at the end. 172 place for a 1 hour 30. Seems like not many faster runners out there. A one hour 30 would finish about 400 in Brighton half with less runners overall.
I was wondering how you did at the race. I was in corral 1 as well and saw the Fordy people. You rebounded nicely and your overall finish time was pretty amazing. You got some great video of the course as well. Yeah I thought about wearing a cap as well but I've learned that it retains the heat. Also black clothing absorbs the heat there in Vegas. Also people don't realize that the altitude is a little bit of a factor. Vegas is just over 2000 feet which does have an impact for people not used to it I've run the race every year since 2009 and it's a tough one to get right. The heat got to me as well a bit as well (I am used to 30f to 40f) and I missed my time goal by a few minutes. I went out slow and was hoping to pick it up at mile 9 but it wasn't there. I've been where you were at many times in my half marathon history. Definitely enjoyed the video and hope you make it back out to the mountain west of the US again (I live in Salt Lake)
A few lessons learned most certainly! Back in SFO now and enjoying the cool conditions and drizzle hahaha! Glad you were a bit closer to your goal than me!
What a cornucopia of different paces. I went from wow, his HM pace is about my 8K pace. To, he is at my HM pace now, to O he's down to my high steady pace. What a kick though. And nothing like a big US race to feel good about your running. Finishing in the top 1% in that race at just sub 1:30. I'm hoping that time will get me top 10-15% in Cambridge this weekend.
Well done and thanks for bring us something quite different. How long after getting off the plane and crossing them time zones did you run this? Amazing finish.
Thanks man. We had been in America 6 days before the run so should have had plenty of time to adjust. We did catch a 5am flight on the day of the race to Vegas though, with the race starting at 5pm - so that wasn't ideal haha!
I recently found the channel and watching all the videos. Noting the 916...i thought awesome, 916k, near a million subscribers that seems a little low but fair enough, I cant believe you only have 916 sub....your videos are unlike anything I've seen.
🤣🤣🤣 I raced a half marathon in vegas in October - it was in the desert at night and I did a fucking terrible job but I still came 8th and won my age group coz Americans can’t pace a race 🤣🤣🤣😍😍🙄🤣🤣
J Mills and a race day bottle, name a more iconic duo
Well done, J Mills. Perhaps not your finest hour (and a half), but many of us can only dream of such a speedy final km.
Cheers!
Big D. Mills energy at the end there!
Most certainly!
Good effort! Nice of you to show D Mills finishing at 13:47
🐐

Yeah, lots of people probably running after a big session the night before!
Great vid as always J Mills. Love the stats on screen. Well done on the finish. Still a top time!
Thank you!
Hoppin' the pond to the desert for a nice little jog, eh?
Anything over 15 degrees and I'm gone, so impressed with this effort D Mills!
We love you Crown
Love the effort to get the job done. Good luck for Brighton. I’m targeting 3:15 there as GFA for London, so I’ll probably only see your dust.
Cheers mate, good luck! After this blowup you might just trudge passed me at 30K 🤣🤣
12:00 sorry, no
Well done Crown
Thank you!
Congrats. This câmera film is awesome
Many thanks!

Getting it done! Well done!
Cheers!
Great vid looks like a fun race I need to try sometime!!
Definitely, it was brilliant!
Love vegas. It was so cold and windy when i did the marathon there a few years ago. Great running 👍
Thanks!
Cold and windy? Sounds more like Skegvegas.
@goodyeoman4534 to be fair it was a bit like skegvegas 🤣🤣
"There's alot of holes in the desert!"
Enjoyed vlog. Fun seeing me in the race even if I had a blow up myself. Yes, SIS gels taste terrible.

It was a good old fashioned proper bonk!! Good luck this weekend!

🥹🥹
Next time give the people what they want and send D Mills to do a job
Okay 🥹
Cracking effort, just seems the legs weren’t there the whole time.
Yeah, I'll get 'em next time!
Surely you could have started that kick back at mile 4.
What gear do you use to track your heart rate and mileage?
It's an insta360go3 with Garmin data pulled in!
D Mills would never
Was it harder than Richmond marathon in 30 degrees heat! Think you might be going a bit soft.....man up 😂
No, this was just slowly draining but think it was probably more jetag and fatigue from all the travel. But yes, I am soft 🤣🤣🤣
