Bill O’Brien wasn’t horrible, he was mid. He won his division 4x. That said, normal people, like me don’t give AF about millionaires and their interviews. I’m just trying to get a $5 raise so I can afford pizzas and stream football for my family.
How do you think these guys feel? They know damn good and well what’s going on. What’s more demeaning? Not getting a job because the color of your skin? Or getting an interview for a job that you know you ain’t getting. In the end, this might get rid of a rule that shouldn’t exist. These owners and GMs know who they’re interested in. Quit making them embarrass people that they don’t want.
@@DarrinBoggs-jh1vp The whole reason you have the rule is because they can’t be trusted!! 80 percent of the league is black! Yet not a lot of us even get the interview not along the job! It’s the same as affirmative action! If these bigots weren’t threatened or have some type of rule in place we would never get the job! Because this is Amerikkka because they can’t be trusted and we don’t have the complexion for the protection simple as that!
Pep Hamilton can get a job. Fact is, he ain’t a head coach. He’s questionable at OC. There’s plenty of qualified people. They bring in these guys to satisfy a requirement that is mandated by the league. How is an interview for OC or whatever any different? They’re capable of interviews.
Kraft hasn’t been right since the tug raid. Or, he’s destroyed his legacy with the recent decisions made. That Jerod Mayo presser when he was hired showed Kraft made a gigantic mistake.
Coach: how do these interviews get initiated? Is there an apply button on the team's website that these coaches fill out or is the agent coordinating all of this?
Miami tried to turn a roster into a 49ers roster and they used a shanahan disciple so to say, McVey disciple, to move forward with the team they wanted.
Smitty, judging Belichick for the lack of coordinator success as head coaches is silly. I could give you the answers to the test but you could still sit down at the desk and fail that shit. That's on the assistants, not Bill.
It’s more of the fact that we fans don’t give a shit about race of coaches. We like to watch sports and when it’s over we don’t care about y’all or the players honestly. It’s entertainment for most of us. I’m sure it’s very important for yall given the fact you devote your life to it but we really just support the uniforms.
The rooney rool is the same thing as hiring quotas It injects a level of uncertainty into the entire situation for any black coach. Am i getting an actual shot or is this checking a box. No Rooney rule at least you know it was somewhat of a more legitimate shot.
The education system has reduced all hard and scientific skills to nothing. I consider this sport a science. Meaning, yes, a lot of people can’t succeed everywhere because it’s mostly soft skills in today’s workplace and employer expects to teach the employee the rest of the job. Something like football coaching has a lot of hard skills that can’t be overlooked because someone has good soft skills.
I can't help but laugh at the mudslinging that goes Bill O'Brien's way. He improved Houston from a 2-14 team to a nine win team the following season and won the division four times. He hasn't coached in the NFL in four seasons, meanwhile, he has one fewer playoff win than John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin since he became Texans coach in 2014.
@@Chalk89that is such a reach to compare BoB to guys who have actually won superbowls and are the longest tenured in the NFL. The AFC South was a super weak division and BoB was apart some of the worst trades and signings in the history of football. Dude gave a 3rd rounder for Duke Johnson . BoB was at the helm when the Texans blew a 24 point lead to the Chiefs just to lose 51-31 in the playoffs. The mudslinging is warranted.
@@qtdynamite1 It's not a reach when it's a fact. Both Harbaugh, Tomlin have had horrid postseason results despite having deep rosters. How long was it that New England got to beat up on the lowly Dolphins, Jets and Bills? To further prove my point - from 2014-2019, I included the wins of the teams from the AFC North to AFC South during BoB's time as head coach: 2014...AFCN - 38, AFCS - 25 2015...AFCN - 30, AFCS - 25 2016...AFCN - 26, AFCS - 29 2017...AFCN - 29, AFCS - 27 2018...AFCN - 32, AFCS - 35 2019...AFCN - 30, AFCS - 32 Let's not pretend that these divisions don't have a punching bag or two within it.
Honestly, glad to see everyone on the same page in the comments, for the most part. This type of stuff is getting old like yesterday. We can all see what's going on, and it's a joke. ....."End Racism"😂😂😂😂 Start with dumbass, demeaning shit like affirmative action and the "Rooney Rule"
These types of DEI initiatives do a tremendous disservice to minority candidates. These guys have dreamed of being a head coach only to get an interview for a job so a franchise can check the box. And, instead of us saying, 'damn, he has a strong shot!' we're instead saying, 'Rooney Rule compliance...' Football is a meritocracy, let's keep it that way.
the Rooney rule doesn't say to interview black coaches then hire them... lol.. its to provide exposure for coaches that have been overlooked in the past.. the process and the meeting benefits these black coaches for interview experience, name revitalization, and the teams benefits from building bridges for future consideration.. because you all are uneducated, flores took miami to playoffs with fitspatrick and mcdaniels took denver to playoffs and beat pittsburgh with tim tebow lol.. so your comment that bb assistance have done nothing is wrong lol,
At some stage, people are just gonna stop showing up to these interviews 😂😂 Get rid of the Rooney rule. Let Franchises hire who they want. So many Owners are so impatient that youre unlikely to hold a HC/GM for a year or two anyway😂
I usually agree with JB but wtf are yu talking about Kraft a lame duck owner , then put him and Woody Johnson in the same category... make it make sense bro. I promise Vrabel not going to Vegas
If Kraft hires Josh McDaniel, he deserves to lose for another half decade. Players do NOT like that guy and he hasn't proven to be able to get it done as a head coach in the couple chances he already got. Hell to the nah. I say go after Vrabel or a guy like Ben Johnson, who can help develop Drake Maye
Mayo was a horrible example he was a crappy coach no matter the color.... and MLK wouldn't like this race talk! He wanted the best to get the Job's no Matter of color
24:00 JB lost me, you just have to look at their respective records and you will see McDaniels has done a much better job than Flores, no matter how much you dislike McDaniels personality.

AFC South has been mid since Peyton left. A few of those years Texans won the division with like 9 wins
Bill O'Brien was far beyond horrible, he wasted so much talent
He got Watson a 300 million dollar payday. What has Watson done since? All they had was Watt and Johnson.
Bill O’Brien was a bad OC at Alabama.
Bill O’Brien the GM was the issue, not his coaching
Wtf is JB talking about Andy Reid has some of the best assistants ever!
Harbaugh
McDermott
Rivera
Nagy
Shurmur
Leslie Frazier
Spags
Bowles
Pederson

Not far removed at all, literally three seasons between Reid, Pederson.
Pederson coaches with Reid for over a decade. Learn something.
