You just gave a voice to so many people who in daily life are unseen, unheard, thank you for that powerful message and for being strong enough to be vulnerable. My deepest respect to you.

@@OPTLawyer 💛 what you shared needs to be heard. There are so many people who can never feel complete or known because their struggle isn't understood, not being able to give words and share makes it harder because it feels alone. For people to be able to hear words to how they feel inside, to feel so understood and known, you give a valuable gift. Thank you

Thank you! Honestly, it's weird...looking back at my life, I can see signs of depression in high school if not even before that.
I became extremely well at hiding it...

Great video. It's very powerful and refreshing. You really should make it public if it won't be professionally damaging. I am very happy for you as a fellow human being. Would it be OK if I shared it on Twitter?

I want to chime in and say that clinical depression is real. It's not just feeling sad about something for too long. What does "too long" even mean? Only an individual can determine their own grieving process. I digress.
Remember OPTLawyer, that the ADD diagnosis isn't off the table, I made a similar mistake with my epilepsy, constantly trying to find a way to connect how I felt to that condition. I never considered I might have other issues. After going back and forth between a psychiatrist and a neurologist for years, I finally suspected something else was going on and went to a neuropsychologist for autism testing, which is a 2 day long test consisting of many subsections, quite enlightening.
ADD is not a spectrum disorder, but symptoms are similar.
You always have a friend in me, and I am here for you.

I've actually been diagnosed with ADHD and have been on ADHD meds now, along with the anti-depressants. We might be changing it soon though; I don't think this one is working too well for me.
I've had a bit of a problem with keeping a psychiatrist. First place I was at was so unorganized I finally just left. I loved the second place I was at and the Registered Nurse I was seeing. ...then the only M.D. of the practice had his medical license permanently revoked by the State medical board for over prescribing certain meds to juveniles (like to the point where death was a real possibility).
I just found a new place last month. I like it so far :D Hopefully I can stay here for more than six months...
