The question was “what did HaShem do all the time before creation?” Answer: the same thing He is doing now. HaShem is not in time. Time is in HaShem. He is still there. He is in eternity past and eternity future in this our right now. This is our G-d! The One and Only Melech haolam!

Here is a catch: not only time is created, but the concept to time is created, and thr concept of event is creates - what seems to be difficult to understand is really impossibility that we face thinking about reality beyond our bubble. We can think of a concept of no time, but we cannot logically describe or imagine it...

You need to study Torah. You have missed many hours of teachings. After you study the chapters pertaining to your questions you will know the answers. Study Torah with a great Rabbi like Rav Kessin

Time itself was created, implied in the dagesh of the letter beit in the word 'breshkit', before any event, as you understand the term 'event.'

Can somebody answer a question for me, please?
The Rabbi said that Hashem is an absolute One that does not consist of parts. This being the case, why does the Sh'ma use the word ECHAD, instead of YACHID? The former means a composite oneness, that is to say, a collection of parts, but the latter means an absolute oneness.
Is there an answer to this question?

The Sh'ma is not the stand-alone definition or statement of the nature of G-ds essence. It is more like a general "review", that can be stated as a matter of belief. The real revelation of G-ds essence and uniqueness occurs in Deut chapter 4, the pinnacle of which is 4:35. "To you it was shown (at Sinai, to the Nation, a voice, from the fire) that you might know that the LORD (YHVH), He is God; there is no other besides Him. No other besides Him. Ein od milvado. That is the operative phrase. That is the Yachid. The unique solitary essence. One Mind, One substance, NO OTHER and by "other" that means ontologically everything. Once this is understood and internalized, the Sh'ma takes on a far deeper, far more profound reality.

    Beautifully profound shiur, as always.
Just one point, for the record, it is true that Islam depends on the so-called revelations of one man, but Christianity doesn't. There were numberless occasions when many people witnessed the great things that were being done, five thousand, four thousand, entire villages, large crowds heard the bat kol from heaven, the list goes on. All 11 of the disciples, not counting the women, witnessed the resurrection appearances, and they also saw the ascension. Peter later said that "we were eyewitnesses of His majesty." Christianity does not depend on the word of one man.

Just a comment...if there is "no time" with HaShem...there certainly seems to be series of events..to say that at some point in a series of events G-d created the world...that would imply TIME.. Even if G-d created TIME...it was a break...the first movement so to speak...and thus...time did exist with G-d. So I don't understand.

Time is a human concept in every sense. G-D could have created everything at once in a "human concept coming up" nanosecond. Maybe like: raining, wind blowing, sun shining and a child is born at the same. If you say "moment" you just added a human concept.
