The blades on a chinook rotate at only 225 rpm; not six thousand 😂. 15U Chinook maintainer
i just jumped on to say the same thing....can you imagine a 350lb blade turning at 6k rpm.....dude fact check. it might be before it goes into the xsmn but not at the blade
The sync shafts run at 6600 RPM.
@@jim2314 225
me too bub
Hooker bros for life
Came here after watching a MIL Mi-26 pick up the chinook, there chinook looks so tiny but here looks huge.
I saw that video too.
What a fantastic flying machine....and the skill and knowledge by the pilots and their team.👍
I was like damm its got shoes
Main rotors at 6000 rpm?
Try 225 +\-
"where the winds can become strong enough to break a tree" ok, but how thick of a tree are we talking about?
gonna be a chinook repairer in the national guard, imma be working on these babies and hopefully fly in them :D
Before you repair a Chinook make sure to repair that grammar lol.

@@raleighkellyc9375 already did, yet to be in a "fun" ride though lol was too comfy of a ride. Im going to try to be a crewchief.
Wainwright home sweet home
Also hi capt Christensen
This is more than just a we bit overdramatized. They can employ blade braking from the cockpit via a hydraulic accumulator with zero engine power and zero risk to the crew. I suppose the use of manual "blade ropes" was part of the exercise and makes for "better TV". Also, they weren't "trapped" on the mountain as there was a second Chinook in the exercise. These exercises are always done with a "hot" exfil/evac available.
Makes you wonder why they didn't spec the rotor brake when they ordered them - wouldn't have any issues then...
Looking good, Sugar Bears!
This can be very useful for our troops in Siachen glacier.
6000 rpm - yes and it does 3D inverted also.
With a sling load.
6000 rpm... it would be classified as a spacecraft at that point lol
Nice
Lol i just seen the Tail # of that ACFT at 3:22. We have that ACFT in NY now. B co 3/126 GSAB " KONG" in Rochester NY
Does it still have the fiberglass skids, or were they removed?

Only one word..... Mil-Mi 26.
the amount of over exaggeration and the miss-information in this video is just cringe worthy
The music makes this seem intense and dangerous.

These choppers are weird but beautiful

That's how I chain my dogs
Chinook can go deep udersea for stealth operations in india
Wtf
I'm sure the Army Safety Center wants to see idiots jumping up to stop rotor blades. There is no published procedure for this, but in extreme situations, you can use the blade ropes like a lasso...
@razorsharpbt Last time this happened to me, we had to reposition to a better spot and turn the nose away from the wind. The blades eventually stopped.
Army strong hooooooooaaaaahhhhh

HERE'S IS MIL MI-26
Chinook: uh oh my big brother is here HELP
Meanwhile in Russia.. they said 'that' massive? 😎ha ha ha..
I have fixed and rotor license. I had fixed license before I had a driver license. My grand father had a crop dusting company he passed down to my brother and myself. We are both doctors so we had to hire pilots. But I hire guys that know stuff they don’t need to know that strive to better there self. These dumb asses don’t even know the rpm to there own rotor system which gets under my skin. The Delta and foxtrot both spin at 225 RPM. The engine rpm is 6K but the damn rotors spin at 225rpm. The fastest rpm you will find is 450rpm main rotor and tail rotors spin around 5,000 rpm usually. But. Main rotors peak at 450rpm. I’ve never seen one faster.
I have a Huey and it operates at 324rpm. A bo-105 bk117 is in the 400’s.
MIL MI 26: *"HOLD MY BEER!"*
That girly chinook helicopter is now a helicopter mother because she just had her baby chinook helicopters today and her helicopter boyfriend is now a helicopter father.
First
You're not, fuck off.
A woman pilot? I wouldn’t get on that helicopter.
*see video of Mi-26 hauling this piece of garbage away by air.
