But there are people everyday who rather go to a reputable breeder to buy an expensive purebreed or "doodle" than adopt. How does that make her any different? I'll admit it's unconventional. But if I had the money, I would do the same. Especially because when I adopted my dog he was already a year old. I'd love to see what he looked like as a puppy. I don't think anyone who does this believes they're getting the exact same dog. They just like the same "look" their old dog had. My mutt I adopted is very unique looking. He's not purebred so there's no dog that will ever look like him. I'd definitely pay to have him cloned. Next time, I go to the vet, I'll ask to get a DNA sample from my dog to prepare for something like this in the future.
