How putting himself & his band into the mindset required for writing & performing this stuff cost him his mental well-being, his physical health, his sanity. But it turned out that the band of outsiders managed to put together some of the best songs of the genre. This is better than peak SKREWDRIVER in my book. Can't be beaten. Oh the Irony.

The band ARE session musicians, with no connection to 'Oi' or any 'Right-wing' faction. Finally, I don't hold any interest in Fascist ideals, but 'Romper Stomper' is my 2nd Fave film of all time! It is so Gritty! I've only seen it about 20 times! PS. My #1 is 'Battle of Britain'.

The reprise at the end of the film, when Hando is filling the kettle is one of the best scenes ever. The volume of the music building and the police driving through the warehouse. It shows them to be a pretty pathetic bunch ultimately in contrast to the lyrics of the song.
