AMEN BROTHER!! Some people creqate a continuous barrier of insulation up and over the roof so the attic is conditioned! Makes sense when you think about HVAC trying to heat your house but then the ducts go through a cool area or vise versa!
I appreciate the low modulus caulks because they allow for movement. I used an acoustical sealant it was either grabber or OSI. worked well so far I'm still building and I did pop one box off pushing way too hard on it

Sometimes is the small things that are hard to buy because of the cost but then ya figure out it's worth every penny and then some!!
Should work good. The more I see these days I am leaning to no attic space and closed cell foam right out to the overhang.
