    Gorgeous table! Very unique! Could you counter sink the metal bars underneath the top? It would be a really nice touch. Also, put your company name sunk in too, versus like a sticker on the surface. Similar to how Cam does with his C channels for the legs and his company mark. Your work is beautiful and stunning! I also watch Black Tail studio too, that protective product Cam created really brings out the beauty of the wood and epoxy, makes them like one. Keep up the good work, learned a lot from your commentary!

    Turned out absolutely stunning. I love how it contrasts with the clients island. Personally, I have yet to build anything with epoxy or otherwise, I am just now starting to get the tools purchased to start. It is GREAT that you show your mistakes and exactly how you were able to correct them. Especially the tip for adding the width of the blade when cutting the 45-deg. angle for the waterfall. I will definitely have to purchase and watch your class before I begin my first project. Tho that will be a few months down the road.

    Great build Greg, did you use levelers 0n the water fall side of the table? Not all client's floors are as level as we would like. Glad to hear the shout out for Black Forest, I'm a student of their method and use their deep resin all the time. Also a big fan of Cam's work at Black Tails. Hey Greg when joining your two pieces of melamine together with caulking to make your mold longer, do you not worry about it seeping too deep into the epoxy table when making these transparent builds? On the edges the caulking can spread pretty far sometimes as you know. I did notice it was pretty thin where the seam was, which seems like the best way to do it, but also might affect the leaking potential. Either way let me know your thoughts. Thanks for the great content, your videos and tables are amazing.
    Also I'm looking into getting a festool ets sander and was wondering do you use the soft pad on your sander? I know they have a hard, medium and soft one.

    • @xxMattyIcexx
      @xxMattyIcexx Рік тому +3

      Its one of the reasons that the molds are made a bit oversized. Everything can be trimmed down and made perfectly square while removing any of the weird edges that may be present from the caulking.

    Other reasons to remove the bark are, it has a lot of dirt and dust and potential bugs is it as well as holds more air in it that can create more bubbles in the epoxy

    Hallo Greg!
    Kompliment, Sie bauen sehr schöne Tische! 👍
    Eine Frage dazu habe ich... Im Video haben Sie gesagt das es besser ist die Ränder des Holzes nicht zu versiegeln um eine bessere Verbindung zwischen Epoxy und Holz zu erhalten!
    Es klingt logisch und ich stimme Ihnen zu, aber ist es nicht riskant Luftblasen zu bekommen die aus dem Holz entweichen und das gefärbtes Epoxy in die Fasern des Holzes eindringt und somit nicht gut aussieht??
    Über eine Info würde ich mich sehr freuen!
    Grüße aus Österreich 🇦🇹

    • @diywithgreg
      @diywithgreg  Рік тому

      Yes you are correct, but we are using a deep casting epoxy, and that means the epoxy takes super long(like 24 hours) before it starts to set, we will cast the one day, and then still come back the next day to pop the bubbles. Hope this makes sense
