As I promised, let's try a very "normal" pre-built ebike.
    A 250W hub-motorised city one: a Leopard City Cruise.
Is it any good? How is it to drive it? Is there any way to increase an ebike's range?
    Enjoy! 😉

The best reason not to buy a prebuilt is that most often than not if you need a replacement part they will charge you a leg and a arm for it. The second best, more than 250W.

Built a 750W BBS02 after watching your videos from a Carrera Subway 2 I already owned that was too heavy without e assistance. Wow! Brilliant and far cheaper than even the cheapest entry level e-bike. I agree that the best e-bike is the one you build yourself, big battery and masses of range.

Funnily enough I did the same last week with my 12 year old Carrera Subway 2. I think 750w is the perfect amount of power for it. I live on a steep hill and can pedal up it no problem now. It's turned a 12 year old bike into something that can now hold its own on the road no problem.

@@noggintube I was looking at the specs of a Raleigh e-bike listed at £1595 400W rear hub drive and and only a 400Wh battery, pretty crap control/display, specs were rubbish compared to a bafang bbso2 kitfitted to a fairly cheap hybrid bike and more than twice the price. Glad to hear about your Subway 2, did you use rivnuts on the down tube to mount the battery?

@@neiljarvis8911 Yeah that was the only major issue really due to the bottle carrier being too low. Popped 2 rivnuts higher up and all nice and solid. Agree about the price of ebikes - I actually looked at the official Carrera Subway ebike just out of interest. £1100 and as you say, poor hub motor with rubbish battery.

    Ciao Luke,
