It'sRairryMaddie ! Luna is very pretty, but I don't particularly find it interesting. It has no atmosphere, no bodies of liquid, no geologic activity. It's basically a dead world.

BasedAustrian Titan is definitely the most interesting to me. After Titan would come Triton, Europa, Enceladus, and Io.

It'sRairryMaddie ! Sorry to disappoint you, but there is nothing on Luna of any interest. If there was, then NASA, the ESA, or another scientific body would've verified this by now. Perhaps there are still some mysteries about the moon, sure. But don't get your hopes up of finding anything interesting like life. Don't get me wrong, I love our moon, but I just don't particularly find it as interesting as some other places in our solar system

Do a video about Silicon based life or Other life that could use ammonia instead of water.

    • @jeffanderson8165
      @jeffanderson8165 7 років тому +11

While it is a wonderful topic for discussion, what I know about chemistry makes ammonia based life unlikely.
One of the characteristics of chemistry is that some materials are water soluble and some aren't. Those which are, are polar; they have a North and South. Using ammonia as the universal solvent means that polar molecules won't be dissolved, but non-polar ones, the ones that water does *not* dissolve, would be dissolved in the ammonia.
That leads to the problem of electrical conductance. Ammonia based, non-polar compounds don't conduct electricity where water based polar ones do. Without electrical conductivity, there's no neural pathway action.
As far as carbon and silicon go, the big characteristic about carbon is its way of forming carbonic rings. This is a characteristic that silicon doesn't have. Again, as I understand chemistry, it's these ring structures that make long, data packed strings (DNA) possible.
While it is hypothetically possible that silicon and ammonia can be used by life *very* different from us, the odds aren't good.
Still, if you like science fiction the way I do, it's still a wonderful idea for trying to imagine what sort of magnificent life may be out there.

Even if Titan orbited around the Earth, it would never be habitable, and this for one simple reason: it does not have a protective magnetosphere.
Without it, the solar wind would have already removed the atmosphere millions of years ago, and liquid water would have disappeared with the atmosphere.
Titan would therefore be a desert devoid of water and life, with a very rarefied atmosphere, and a surface invested in full by solar radiation, like Mars.
The only difference is that compared to Mars, it would be warmer, but it would not be enough to support life.

You didn't say anything about it's atmosphere chemistry... Once all the methane/ethane was gone, would it carry any oxygen to possibly use and convert to easy to use breathing apparatus or maybe even some disposable filter!? I am assuming there would be some chemicals that would be some what toxic but with liquid water O² would be abundant enough to utilize while exploring and possibly make a base there... Would love to know if we have any chemist/physics/astronomers qualified to give there and educated guess/assumption... I know these hypothetical ideas can't be nailed down 100% but would love to hear from someone qualified to have an idea about this!?!? Thx for the video! Great work!

The problem is: changing a planet's position is impossible. You would probably need an absolutely massive wormhole, and on top of that, you would need to be able to control the wormhole's location, as well as making sure it doesn't disrupt anything else.

What if we sent a whole load of rockets to Titan or a nearby surfaced space object then turn them upside down so the engine is facing to the sky then the rockets will fire and we can push the planet or moon a tiny amount

  • @KrotowX

Wait a minute! Methane and ethane doesn't disappear - they still remain in Titan atmosphere in enormous quantities. So if we would to make breathable atmosphere here by pumping oxygen into Titan's atmosphere, then in one moment atmosphere will become erm... explosive. It would be an accidental great purge for all terraforming equipment on Titan though it should be very spectacular event when looking from Earth :D
