I've owned one of this little masterpieces and don't want to miss it anymore!!!! The quality of the card case cannot be seen on the video. if you hold it in your hand you know that it will be with you for the rest of your life! Is absolutely worth the price! #noboughtadvertising

Nicely done and good looking, but yet i'd suggest using thinner leather for the inner layers and thicker only outside (+ eventually the top layer inside). :)

Interesting- that leather bears a really strong resemblance to Horween's Dublin line. I love Horween's pull-up leathers, its such a pleasure to work with. While Shell Cordovan is great, I feel that's one of their best products.

I've never worked with horween leathers, the size of a shell cordovan and the price tag freak me out ;-).
Would like to try sometime, though.

I'm lucky enough that they're about 45min/hour away (Their factory store
and the tannery itself). The shell cordovan is truly amazing, but
yeah....the price tag is intimidating. The factory store (at least) does
offer small "chips" of the cordovan for small projects like a small
      card wallet, etc.

Thin out, then glue after punch and sew, cutting, coloring and polishing edges.
Then the same work looks much nicer and more perfect.
Good enough for beginners. And linen tread with beeswax is just as durable and the best renewable resource.

Amazing! How long does it take you to create start to finish most of your projects?
I don't know what it is about your videos, but I could watch them all day. Perhaps it's the truly handmade factor with the stellar quality attached to it.

    Hello Ms. Hondelmann,
First of all I would like to greet you for the professional work and videos you do. I am a big fan of your work and I hope one day if I can reach or get close to your level of knowledge, skills and precision about leather handcraft. I would like to ask you couple of questions about the item above, off course you do not have to feel obligated to answer me. If you do not mind asking me what is the difference of the mm. ( ounces) from the main panel (the big front piece) and the small card panels and the little belt? Did you dye the leather or it is pre- dyed? I also see some finish on the front panel from the inside side of the leather piece did you make it or it comes this way? Also do you paint or burnish the edges on the card holders? I am sorry for the too many questions. Thank you very much in advance.
    Sincerely

    • @KinnariLeather
      @KinnariLeather  7 років тому +1

Hi, no problem at all. The exterior piece and the strap are about 2mm thick, the card slots are about 1mm.
The leather is pre dyed and pre finished, also the fleshside. SInce the card slots are so thin, I merely applied some gum trag and polished a little. But you can paint the edges with edge kote just as well.
      Hope that helps.

Hi there, a pretty good concept for a wallet I must say.
I have a question about the cloth you are using to burnish the edge, what blend is it, is it pure cotton or pure wool/poly etc?
    Thank you.
