Having had the chance to meet him recently, I can almost assure his humor is just really REALLY dry and ultra sarcastic - he definitely cares about people despite the way he comes off. He's one of those people behind closed doors that you have a greater appreciation for, not a lot of people have that effect in the world.
That being said yes he probably wanted to be left alone in the video and giveaway haha

The fact that he broke one of the oldest rules of television and interviews and not only refused to put shoes on, but also filmed this entire segment in a pair of his signature long white crew socks that are both blatantly too big for him (the built-in heel on his left sock is nowhere to be seen at 00:10 seconds, meaning it is misplaced and settled no lower than ankle height) and permanently soiled on the bottoms (his left footprint stain, especially the heel mark portion, is in plain sight at 00:12) is a prime example of why I love him.

I met him in Houston at a show, hung out for like 20 min with him and Pete Tong drinking Coronas. Still got the pics! This was back in March of 2009, so he hadn't really blown up yet.
