Arriva North West launches a fleet of Hybrid Technology buses

Arriva North West recently celebrated the arrival of its first fleet of hybrid technology buses in Birkenhead. Arriva introduced these buses through a £9 million investment following a successful bid to the government's Green Bus Fund. This resulted in the delivery of 33 new Volvo hybrid buses, which is currently being used on the popular Cross River Services - 407, 432, 433, 437, 464 and 472 operating between Liverpool and the Wirral via the Mersey Tunnel.
The hybrid buses will support delivery of the Liverpool City Council Air Quality Action Plan, the emission reduction goals in the Merseyside Local Transport Plan, and the environmental priorities of the Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority and Merseytravel.
