I love how quiet & empty the parks & paths are during the day in Merida because of the heat. I bet this ride would be A LOT different in the evening & night hours. Nice ride. Thanks. 👍🏾
For sure. Definitely each peaceful in their own way. I can say that I've built up a pretty good heat tolerance here with how much I'm out in the day. 😄Thanks for watching!
@@amydecker6207 thank you! I have a few more videos in the works and will be adding some more biking tours to the mix soon. Appreciate your support 🇲🇽✌️
This was really good...we connect with your perspective and vibe...a question: what was the last music while you were riding through the Parque Lineal? I tried clicking the music links and one of them went to something completely different (a South Asian schoolgirl with lipstick??) -- I am wondering if that was that beautiful cello/quartet music originally? We'll be checking out your other videos too for more of your reflections and information. We are still strongly considering Merida despite the oppressive heat...
Thanks for commenting and enjoying the vibes. That's really strange i just tried the link as well. UA-cam includes that since I used something from their audio library so not sure how that happened! The song is 'Nature Nurture - Quincas Moreira' when I search for it separately on youtube it pops up. Oppressive heat is a good way to put it! The weather is beautiful alot of the time as well too. Thanks again for popping by!
@@maclawa in the middle of the day, it's quiet if you're not in centro ("downtown"). Folks are at work or school, and outside of rush hour, people stay inside until it's cooled down in the evenings. The parks come alive around 8pm, and it's not uncommon to see kids playing soccer at 11pm. In other words, I'm the only one crazy enough to be out on asphalt in the midday sun 😆
Great question. Inmuebles24 has some, Facebook marketplace is a great resource as well. We went through Barbara at “Merida Moves” she had a bunch of places lined up and helps with the lease and everything. Shes highly recommend if you’re looking for assistance in finding a place. Worth every cent.
Man interesting. One of the first things I noticed moving here is how much people get outside here. I filmed this video early on a Tuesday so not many people out. People gather in the parks at night mostly because its so hot during the day for most of the year. Check out my latest short i posted of a park at night to see some action: ua-cam.com/users/shortsTfZGV5nDtes?si=cvtRVR98kavDJTaL
Great question glad you mentioned it. Because there isn’t anyone in the video? Thats because I was there pretty early during a work week. Its crazy how much people get out here at the parks. Mostly nights because its so hot here usually. Friday night at that someone set up a whole restaurant at the second park😆. Merida is actually regarded as the second safest city in all of North America 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 🇲🇽. Never once felt unsafe, or even had anyone be mean to me ☮️
What amazed me most living here is how taco carts are parked safely at parks overnight and not only do their items not get stolen, but nothing gets vandalized, either. The parks I grew up at in the states had to have everything bolted down, and even then, people would destroy fences and basketball hoops and playground equipment just for the "joy" of destruction 😢 and this was in a rural area, so its particularly stunning that things are kept in peace here, in a decent sized city. The parks really come alive at night, once the sun is down and folks are off work. It's great to see such strong community in action, it's like a block party most nights of the week! I was so intimidated when I first came that I wouldn't fit in due to my lacking spanish, but they welcome me right 🥰 it's a stunningly beautiful culture. And Mérida is very safe. But don't take my world for it, a quick Google will yield safety results from several difference sources. It's a gem.
Nice to see different parts of Merida
Thank you for making this. It was very informative!
Love the bike tour. Awesome video.
Thanks for letting me know!
This is excellent, love seeing what its really like! Thank you for the honest info. 🙏
Gracias for the continued support and feedback, VivaFlork!
Would love to watch a video on the whole bike trail.
Awesome. Ill add it to the list of places to visit soon. Thanks for letting me know.

@holaadventures ah thats why it was so quiet. Ignore my question above in that regards.
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Just found your channel. I really enjoyed this cycling tour.

Biking as a way to get around locally is my preference.
That's awesome! Can't beat fresh air and sunshine. Thanks for sharing. 🙌
Do that video of the whole bike path please

@@reyosuna7026 thanks for the feedback!! I'm working on a few new videos now, once those are done I will get back to bike route 😃
Great video, I am very interested in a cycling routes video of Northern or Merida in general and where to find these
Awesome. I haven't done it yet, but there is apparently nice route to Dzibilchaltún.
Thank you for showing me the neighborhood
Thanks for watching :)

Good video. Tanks
Did U buy your bike in Mexico? I'd like a similar type setup.
Yes I did as a matter of fact. I bought it from The Giant Store in Merida. It's north of the Periferico on the way to Progreso.
Do you know the name of the trees they were calling enchanted?
It's a Ceiba tree. 🌳 or ya'axché in Mayan.
🙏🙏🙏

Hola
Hola 👋
It looks very quiet there. No one on the streets. Is this normal?

Is there any websites where you can look up rentals in Merida?😊

Where are all the people? Every video I have seen of Merida makes it look like a ghost town.

Los parques empiezan a tener vida cuando el sol se va metiendo y cuando hay tianguis ciertos dias. Saludos
Nice parks but never used, no one goes to the park, why, is it dangerous?
