I have just a plain Jane Dean ML select. The black one with the black and white binding, and the string through bridge. And I actually put the dimebag pick up set in it and it’s probably my favorite guitar. It sounds rad with the dimebag pick ups and it plays rad too. And unless something was changed on your guitar, the neck pick up should be a Seymour Duncan 59. but I would love to get one of these dime from hell guitars if I can find one in a left-handed version.

I’ve got one of the newer ones with the black chrome Floyd. Out of all of my deans, it’s one of my favorites. Even though it’s Chinese made, the build quality is up there with my 35th anniversary edition. I do plan to rip out that dimebucker and put a bill Lawrence in it. The bill Lawrence pups just sound better to me and are way more versatile. And yes the neck pup is a DMT dime time. One of my favorite neck pups. It’s like a super distortion with more hair on it’s nuts. Nice collection too brother. I own 7 deans myself. I have a few more models on my radar, but when you own 22 guitars you have to ok it with the wife before buying 😂
I had a chance to grab a Baby Dime Blue Bolt that needed a lot of TLC, but I was $20 short. After dropping the price well below asking, the seller wouldn't come down anymore and I just didn't have enough. Since then I've acquired a few more. Still wish I had scooped that one up.
I should have grabbed the original Korean version when they were first released. I don't like that they changed the Lawrence pickup to a Dimebucker, and I don't like that they got rid of the solid black hardware.
I have 2 Razorbacks and one is a rust and it's my favorite of all 42 guitars I've had. No regrets and love it. My goal is to get a Slime or a Bolt one day

I've owned pretty much every Dime guitar minus a very few and I agree that the Dean from Hell is the best playing one besides the custom ones I built myself but those don't count obviously! China builds great guitars specially for the price, I had the US version of this guitar and it's barely different than the Chinese model witch is kid of sad when you think about the price difference. You can upgrade the Chinese model with a real Floyd and the same pickups and electronics Dime used and basically have the US version. The only other model that played as good or close was the rebel stealth, that guitar actually kicks ass and in my opinion is the best looking Dime guitar besides the Dean from Hell!
Love that sledge I’m making my own version of a sledge with some wicked fractal burning an epoxy resin diorama works I used an ibanez Japan reverse headstock rescaled with a bill Lawrence 500xl and Duncan 59 In neck with a coil tap
I just got mine for my graduation present, but when I played it through my Boss Katana 50, it sounded weird, like it only had bass, no treble, also sounded like it had no guitar tone, like my Les Paul Epiphone. I turned treble up all the way on my amp and turned bass to 0 and it didn’t make a difference. I don’t know what to do.
I just got mine in...apparently they changed where these are made again..The website on guitar center said made in china..The guitar I received was made in india...1st one was damaged so got a replacement (also made in India)...Seems pretty legit though..Was still in tune even through the shipping process..
Hey brotha i recently got a dean from hell. It’s my first dean. The fretboard width seems a little smaller than I’m used to & so the top e strings seems close the edge of the fretboard. If i do open pull offs on the high e string closer to the nutside then sometimes the string slips off the fretboard. I think i can get used to it and adjust. Its not often i have to do pull offs in that position anyway. I’m just wondering if yours is like that too?
Hey, it might be the nut. If it's not centered properly then either high or low e is gonna be too close to the edge and in turn the other one will be further away from it.
I just bought one of those for 400 bucks off some confused kid that only wants to play acoustic. People talk shit about Dean all day long but I like it a lot.
The GOTOH 1996 is way better than the FR Special...GOTOH has Steel saddles [Not the junk zinc on the FR's] and comes standard with a brass block and made in Japan.

Sup man! Sorry it’s taken a bit to respond to your question. So these newer deans are Chinese made. The USA models are very high going around the 3k range and the Korean models of the past are nice guitars but lack great parts! If it were me I would definitely buy the newer Chinese model like I have in the video here! They have amazing Floyd not the sucky gotoh style Floyd’s and are equipped with dime buckers and Grover tuners can’t go wrong with any of that plus they are assembled and set up in Florida at armadillo enterprises and those cats take great pride in their work! I grabbed a Dean from hell for $800 brand new from the Dean website and it’s fuckijg amazing. All the new Dean guitars, atleast the ml shapes that I have are all amazing, I have a 2020 Dean from hell and a 2019 ml 79 trans braz.
Yeah they are Chinese up into the 1500 usd range but are assembled and setup in Florida. Still a very great quality guitar and they are basically indestructible dude. I got one that was broken already at a huge discount and gave it a torture test and barely had to do any repairs! You should check my other videos out! Fun times!

I believe it’s rose wood fret board. It’s a 2018. So the possibility of it being pao is high but it’s so much more different than that of the slime which is definitely pao wood.
man I have played deans for a long time and saved up for a few years got me a new Gibson les Paul. im left handed so I had to buy it with out playing it . I have regretted buying Gibson. I thought maybe it was just mine but the guy at GC was like no that's normal for Gibson and he's a Gibson guy. I could have and have bought three deans for the price of that Gibson. and my opinion if you want a good quality Gibson by a dean.
@@benwaller9345 ..... Unless you dump the Floyd the whole way to the bottom of its travel range there is no need for tape on the neck pickup. Dime is one of very few who did that regularly. The tape was there to keep the high E string from catching on the pickup bobbins. Again, for most players it's a waste of tape. I just got a 2021 model last week. It is absolutely perfect, it does not have the tape on the neck pickup, I dump the Floyd pretty low and have not had any issues. Hope this helps. PS: since the Floyd is a moving metal part you should keep it properly lubricated and plan on parts wearing. Always try and upgrade parts as they wear, you won't regret it.
Just online from what I can tell. I’ve looked on there and USA model deans run 3k and up which is too rich for my blood so I just grab the Chinese models which are superb in every way!

There are several different models this is made by dean and is 100 % a replica made by dean but it’s the more “affordable model” tuning at 899 usd brand new. Now the one you speak of is a limited run usa model that if your lucky and have money you might have one and they run about 3000 dollars.
In all honesty these cheap ass oriental dime guitars dont do him justice, save your money get you a usa dean, or even better all usa custom shop washburn dimebag.

Is it actually a V profile neck? all the spec sheets say it is, but from looking at photos and other video reviews it looks like standard C profile.
